I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 03 / 2022.**

**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

- **Independent** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have

- **examiner's statement** come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

 - the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

 - the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

 - the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

|---|---|---|
|Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document|Para 1.17|The object of the CIO is to advance the
Christian faith for the public benefit, in
Barnsley and such other parts of the United
Kingdom or the world that the charity
trustees may from time to time think fit, and
to fulfil such other purposes which are
exclusively charitable according to the law
of England and Wales and are connected
with the charity work of the charity|
|Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.|Para 1.17 and
1.19|The main activities in the reporting period
were related to the restarting of public ‘in
person’ services after the long COVID
lockdown. The church regularly gathered
for worship, prayer and outreach services.
In particular the church hosted large prayer
gatherings known as CV20. These were
initially online, but as the year progressed
the church was able to stage large prayer
gatherings, and engage Christian
musicians and worship leaders in a series
of events designed to foster unity and
prayer amongst churches in the region and
beyond. These served to encourage and
build the faith of the church congregation
and those of many other like-minded
churches.
In addition the church continued its local
outreach programmes, in particular in
helping homeless people, although to date
this has been on a small scale.|

The purpose of these
meetings is for teaching, encouragement,
corporate worship and prayer. Guest
musicians and preachers have added to
the diversity of the ministry, and the church
has been a catalyst for unity amongst like-
minded churches, by staging the large
CV20 prayer events, which have a hugely
positive impact on the existing
congregations and also enable the church
and other churches to further their impact
and to further advance the Christian faith.
They demonstrate that Christianity is live
and relevant for the 21stcentury culture.|
