QbiR@ives and Aims The objects ofthe CIO are:_ To further such charitable purposes for the benefit of people living in Combe Martin, Devon and the surrounding area, as are exclusively charitable according to the laws of England and Wales. as the Trustees mayfrom time to time determine, by m8king grants to other charities and organisations in furtherance of exclusively charitable purposes. B neflt The Trustees have considered the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit and consider that the 8Ctivities of the charity meet its charitable objectives and provide a benefit to the public. Charitable actlvltles In the two years since the shop has been in its present premises. sales and footfall have increased considerably. Card sales more than equal cash sales now. Our prices remain competitive with national charity shops and in most cases are considerably lower. This is partly achieved bythe sheervolume of donations. Many compliments are received from customers on the quality of goods. the layout of the shop and the friendliness of the volunteers. This is based on the charity's size and the level offinancial commitment held. The Trustees aim to ensure the charitywill be able to continue to fulfil its charitable objectives even if there is a temporary shortfall in income or unexpected expenditure. TheTrustees will endeavour not to set aside funds unnecessarily.
