In planning our activities for the year at our trustee meetings,
we kept in mind the Charity Commission's guidance on public
benefit. The charity welcomes all people without distinction of
age, sex, sexual orientation, ra￿ or of polth"cal, religious or
other opinions.
Following receipt of ￿annIng permission, the chanty spent
£19.600 on a project to concrete its previously unmade
a¢￿SS road plus a further sum of circa £5.000 to install an
adjacent French drain to cater for water run-off. Not only will
this improve access but rt will also save money over the long
tenn as constant repairs to the pre-exi5ting Surfa￿ will no
longer be necessary. The projeot was supported by a
£10,000 grant from the Rural England Prosperrty Fund.
A further major project was the installation of so5ar panels on
the roof of the dubhouse at a cost of £51,000. The charity
re￿iVed a grant of £18,148 towards this project from The
Commission of the European Union's °Low Carbon Across
the South & East Programme". The solar panels will lower
the chartty's carbon footprint by significantly reducing
reliance on the grid while also improving sustainabilty as
electricity costs will be substantially reduced.

female and male toumaments. Circa £35,000 was raised
from these events, a new record contribution.

Financial Review
Review of the charty's
financial position at the end
of the period
The charity finished the year in a reasonable financial
position wrth cash at bank I cash of £4506 despite a net
cash ouffiow of £25,000 driven mainly by the eX￿ptIOnal
solar and track projects described above. There were no
significant liabilrties at year end. Although liquid resources
at year end were low compared to previous years,
signrficant cash was generated from fundraising activrties
which took la￿ "ust after
ear end.
We consider that cash reserves should be maintained at
minimum of £4k of unrestricted cash all times. This is
consKJered a prudent level to cover day to day expenses for
several months. All meaningful projects are planned in
advance and not undertaken unts'l commrtted funding is in
lace.
