## GOVERNING DOCUMENT 

Scunthorpe Mens Shed is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution. 

Scunthorpe Mens Shed was registered with the Charity Commission on the 05/05/2020. 

## RECRUITMENT AND APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES 

Any new trustees are elected by existing trustees at a trustees meeting of which all members of the charity are advised in advance. 

The constitution states that there must be at least three charity trustees. 



## TRUSTEES INDUCTION AND TRAINING 

All trustees are provided with the Charity Commission’s Roles and Responsibilities of trustees. 

## ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE 

The trustees mange the charity and aim to consider decisions for the good of the charity at its meetings. Any conflict of interest must be declared and recored. The trustees have four meetings per year and their AGM in January. 

The charity has a committee made up of at least three charity members which over see the day to day running of the shed and meet once a month. 

## ACTIVITIES AND OBJECTIVES 

The shed promotes social inclusion for the local community, by providing a safe environment to participate in leaning new skills and to interact with other member of the community, improving their wellbeing and self-esteem. 

The shed welcomes all members of the local community to come and visit and enjoy a day with its members starting with a chat and refreshments, the shed is now open Monday to Friday. The shed offers friendship and training in carpentry and woodturning, the shed also encourages members to take part in various day trips: Canal boat trip on the Keadby canal aboard Tilly. Afternoon tea at the Peatland railway and enjoying a train ride. Visit to Santoft Vehicle museum, riding on restored trolley buses. 

## OBJECTIVES FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR 

To look for new permanent premisses to enable us to expand our membership. To extend our opening one evening a week and one day at the weekend for those in the community who work week days. 

To attend more outside events, Kimberly open day, LBGT event Scunthorpe, this will enable us to advertise what we do as a shed. 

We are looking to move into metal craft. 

## 3. ACHIEVEMENTS 

Our membership has stayed steady at 30 members including ladies (Shedettes) The shed is a member of UKMS and attended their annual Shedfest held in Worcester. The shed is a member of an alliance of 16 other sheds in the local area. Continued training in EET testing, Fire course, Trustee training and IT training. The shed has built two mud kitchens for St Lukes school. 

Built and outside reading area comprising of stools, planters, a mobile library and a outside table and bench's for the staff of West Cliff School. Built 4 stools for Oakfield school. 

Made a routed a sign for Sandtoft vehicle museum to put on their bus shelter. Made animal signs for Bottesford Beck, so children have to spot and name different animals. Help build a planter for Healy Road Nature centre. 

The shed continues to build Mud Kitchens, Bird Boxes, Bird Tables and Hedgehog Boxes to sell.
