Trustee Annual Report year ended 5 April 2024

Objectives and Activities

To advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment by:

Delivering workshops, lessons and other educational material to schools and other local organisations and groups in Wales on the topics of growing food, climate change, biodiversity and waste cycles.

In accordance with section 17(5) of the Charities Act and the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008, the trustees of the Charity had regard to the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission when exercising their powers and duties to which the guidance is relevant. In planning the activities for the year, the trustees reviewed the guidance at their trustee meetings. These main activities include:

Financial Review

The main financial risk to the charity is loss of grant funding. Enough funds are held to cover annual insurance costs in the event of a loss of income.

Our governing document is a constitution adopted 16th April, 2020. We are an unincorporated association.

Our trustees are elected by existing members at the AGM.

Our community Hwb is located within Bwy’n Iach’s car park. The community garden/spaces we care for are on lands owned by Gwynedd Council, Bwy’n Iach and Ysgol Eifion Wyn. The charity’s principal address is Ty Gwellt, Llandecwyn, Gwynedd, LL47 6YR.

Independent Examiner’s report to the Trustees

for the year ended 5 April 2024

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 5 April 2024.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the Trustees of the Charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Charity are not required to be audited for this year and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. In carrying out my examination, I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
