## **Structure, governance and management**

The Trust was constituted by a Declaration of Trust dated 21 January 2020 and to date has received assets from the via Mark Fisher to the value of £775,000.

A further amount of £200,000 was added to the Trust in October 2021 by Mark Fisher.

In March 2023 Mark Fisher made an in-specie transfer of a number of investments into the Trust as detailed in the accounts.

## **Objectives and activities**

The objects are for the benefit of the public to promote any purposes that are charitable according to the laws of England and Wales.

## **Achievements and performance**

During the year covered by this report the Trustees resolved and paid the following grants:

- £20,600 to DEAFvibe UK

- £10,000 to Food in Community

- £10,000 to the Brace and Determined Charity

- £5,000 to the Royal Devon Hospital

At the point of preparing this report the Trustees are considering their options into projects.

## **Reserves**

The charity has been endowed and obtains all of its income from the investment of that endowment. The Trustees have so far made no long term commitments that are likely to exceed their investment income. Even if they choose to do so in the future, that is likely to be conscious decision to commit capital resources to a particular project even if that meant that over time the charity’s resources were entirely spent. Accordingly, the Trustees do not consider it currently necessary to maintain any particular cash sum as reserves.

## **Declaration**

The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees’ report above.

Agreed on behalf of the charity’s Trustees

## **The Fisher Charitable Trust (RCN: 1189317** )

## **Independent examiner’s report on the accounts for the year to 31 March 2024**

The charity’s Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (‘the Act’)) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility:

- To examine the accounts (under section 43 of the Act);

- To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act); and

- To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

My examination was carried out in accordance with General Discretions given by the Charity Commissioners. An explanation includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures of the accounts, and seeking explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the Trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that proper accounting records are kept (in accordance with section 41 of the Act) and accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act; or

2. To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
