## **TRUSTEES' REPORT**

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 OCTOBER 2025

The trustees present their annual report for Eagles Rest Church for the year ended 31 October 2025. The report has been prepared with regard to the charity's constitution and the reporting requirements applicable to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

## **Objectives and Activities**

The charity exists to advance the Christian faith and its practice for the public benefit. It provides a safe and welcoming place of worship and supports the community through regular services, prayer meetings, Bible study, teaching, pastoral care, counselling, family support, practical assistance and activities for children and young people.

The charity also supports people experiencing hardship by providing food, signposting to other services, assistance with employment searches and other forms of community support. Its activities are delivered by trustees, church members and volunteers.

## **Public Benefit**

The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when planning and carrying out the charity's activities. Worship and community support are available to the public without unlawful discrimination, and the trustees seek to ensure that the charity's resources are applied solely in furtherance of its charitable purposes.

## **Achievements and Performance**

During the year the charity continued its programme of worship, prayer, Bible teaching and pastoral support. It maintained community outreach, food and hospitality activities, counselling and family assistance, and provided opportunities for volunteers and members to contribute their time, skills and financial support.

The trustees are grateful to members, volunteers, donors and partner organisations whose support enabled the charity to continue serving individuals and families in Nottingham and the surrounding area.

## **TRUSTEES' REPORT (CONTINUED)**

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 OCTOBER 2025

## **Financial Review**

Total income for the year was £10,681.34 and total expenditure was £10,483.58, producing a surplus of £197.76. Funds brought forward were £0.25 and unrestricted funds carried forward were £198.01. No restricted or endowment funds were identified in the accounting records supplied.

Gross transfer receipts of £4,820.00 have been recognised as unrestricted income. Gross transfer payments of £1,814.00 are included separately within expenditure and have not been offset against income.

## **Reserves Policy**

The trustees aim to retain unrestricted reserves at a level sufficient to meet routine commitments and to provide reasonable continuity of services. The year-end cash balance was modest in relation to annual expenditure; the trustees will therefore continue to monitor cash flow, future commitments and the timing of voluntary income.

## **Risk Management**

The trustees review the principal risks facing the charity and seek to manage them through appropriate authorisation procedures, safeguarding arrangements, record retention, regular financial monitoring, secure handling of funds and periodic review of policies and controls.

## **Structure, Governance and Management**
