Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The CIO was pleased, however, to be able to support the Senior Leadership Team of the church in achieving significant successes during the period. In particular:
-
In-person services, and Kids Church activities, continued to take place, both at our Stratford and Manor Park sites. Considerable effort was also made to make them accessible to those watching online.
-
Similarly, a number of well attended courses were held both online and in person, including Alpha, The Bereavement Journey, and courses looking at money management.
-
Our food bank which was set up in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, has now become a Food Pantry. This has continued to have a major impact in supporting disadvantaged people in Manor Park.
-
Our Growbaby project has also continued, providing new and second hand baby clothes to those in need.
-
We started working with asylum seekers living in a local contingency hotel. This included providing a warm meal and place to socialise once a week, providing a community kitchen where people could cook their own meals and providing clothes, shoes, rucksacks, phones and laptops where possible.
