The CIO acts as a consultative body to the Senior Leadership Team of Highway Vineyard Church.

Highway Vineyard Church is the name of the church which was originally known as Highway Evangelical Church.

Highway Evangelical Church is registered separately as a linked charity (No. 1116530-8) of Livability (No. 1116530). Highway Vineyard Church operates as Highway Evangelical Church in respect to its financial activity.

Highway Vineyard Church CIO is in on-going discussions with Livability about their respective future roles in relation to the church.

The Highway Vineyard Church CIO have assisted the Senior
Leadership Team of the church in the planning and execution of a
range of activities for the public benefit including:
• the organisation and provision of Christian worship; through regular
Sunday services - held in the church buildings and attended by the
public, either in person or online;
• the provision of such facilities and services as are appropriate for the
church, to enable it to fulfil its mission to the members of the church,
visitors to the church and the local community and the wider community
- through the provision of Sunday school classes and groups for
parents and toddlers, a social group for the benefit of the elderly, a
Food Bank, a Growbaby project (providing clothes for infants), courses
helping people to cope with bereavement and the provision of pastoral
counselling and support to individuals facing a range of other personal
difficulties;
• the provision of facilities for Christian training and service - through
providing Christian teaching via sermons and courses, the running of
the ‘Discipleship Year’ programme, and through the establishment of
small groups to foster fellowship and discipleship;
• the support and provision of Christian evangelism and outreach -
through courses such as ‘The Alpha Course’.
• the provision of assistance to the wider Christian church in its
ministries - through our membership of Vineyard Churches UK, and our
support for evangelism and missionary work carried out by other
Christian agencies.
In undertaking their activities, the trustees declare that they have had
regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public
benefit.
