Trustee selec�on method

Trustees are elected annually by members of the charity. All Trustees are required to be a member of the charity. All Trustees stand down at the end of the financial period but may put themselves forward for re-elec�on. There is no limit on how many years a Trustee may serve.

3.0 Objec�ves and Ac�vi�es

Charity’s objec�ves

The Objec�ves of the Club are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England & Wales, including in par�cular:

The relief of poverty and the relief of those in need in par�cular by providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief.

Encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal reward.

Encouraging members to take an ac�ve interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.

Suppor�ng youth to develop their skills, capaci�es and capabili�es to enable them to par�cipate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

Charity’s ac�vi�es

The charity’s primary ac�vity is to raise money from the public and return the money back to the public by making grants to worthy causes. The club operates mainly in the local Lancaster and Morecambe area but also supports wider humanitarian aid and disaster relief across the world through Lions Club Interna�onal Fund LCIF.

All monies raised from the public are returned to the public. All members of the charity give their services for free. All of the clubs administra�on costs are paid for by the charity members.

In addi�on to giving out grants the charity operate a Food Club, assis�ng local people in food poverty. The Food Club operates from St James Church Hall Heysham every Thursday

The charity also operates a demen�a club with the aim of providing advice and support to demen�a carers. The demen�a club operates from Morecambe library every Wednesday.

Charity Trustee’s Statement

In carrying out their du�es, the Trustees of the charity have had regard to the guidance issued by the commission on public benefit.

4.0 Achievements and Performance

During the period covered by this report the club raised a total of £2,837 direct from the public and received a further £2,852 from dona�ons and grants to fund its charitable ac�vi�es.

The club gave out grants totalling £1,157 direct to local people in need, and £450 to interna�onal disaster zones via Lions Club Interna�onal.

The Food Club con�nued to operate throughout the period. The food club meets once a week and supplies food to the needy. The food club supplies food to approximately 200 people each week.

The Demen�a Drop-in club operated every Wednesday providing support and advice for the carers and families of those living with demen�a.

We donated food vouchers to Lancaster Homeless Ac�on.

We donated sleeping pods to Lancaster Homeless Ac�on.

Once a week we fed the homeless in Morecambe.

We supplied hats and gloves to the homes in Morecambe

We supplied food for families in need through Social Services.

Through the Lions Interna�onal disaster fund we made dona�ons totalling £450 providing relief to people around the world affected by natural disas]ter such as earthquakes, floods,

We provide Christmas presents for the young people in Barnardo’s.

Collected and donated stamps to RNIB.

Collected and donated plas�c tops for recycling to a group in Morecambe.

Provided Christmas gi�s and cards for the elderly in local care homes.

We supplied various household items for local people in need.

5.0 Finan¢lal revlew The Trustee's are satisfied the cash funds carried forward at the year end are sufficient for Lancaster and Morecambe Lions Club ICIOI to continue carrying out its objectives.
