We aim to advance the Islamic faith in Great Harwood for the public benefit, mainly but not exclusively by means of providing a place of worship, religious education and pastoral care in the community. **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** MMI has continued to arrange funerals for the public regardless of their religious beliefs. MMI has carried out funeral arrangements for the Muslims and wider community including non-Muslims. This involves working with the coroner, registrar, cemeteries and direct families in order to provide a free funeral service to them. MMI has introduced a MMI death committee, which operates by providing emotional support or funds to pay for funeral costs, like burial plots, caskets, hearse for those who are struggling to the financial burden a funeral. |**Summary of the main**<br>**achievements of the charity**<br>**during the year**|MMI’s academic results showed improvements with our examination<br>results having a 100% pass rate. We have introduced new classes<br>teaching the community how to cope with the economic situations we are<br>all facing.<br>MMI continues the operation of the free funeral service and emotional<br>support within MMI for all the community to use regardless of their<br>beliefs. This has helped many grieving families through what is the most<br>emotionally difficult experience of their life.<br>MMI is working in collaboration with Ghausia Rizvia (Accrington), Raza<br>Jamia (Accrington), the Hyndburn Cemeteries and Hyndburn Council in<br>order to improve the Muslim burial services within Hyndburn. This<br>collaboration has identified a 15-point agenda to improving these<br>services and has been successful in completing a lot of them including<br>have the weekend burials within Hyndburn. MMI is now working towards<br>completing Shroud Burial amongst other things listed on the 15 points.<br>MMI has arranged free Nikah (wedding) ceremonies, and given the MMI<br>space for the public to use as wedding halls which maybe too expensive<br>to use for people due to economic constraints.<br>MMI has distributed over 200 iftari food packs during Ramadhan and<br>raised awareness on hunger within the local community.<br>MMI provided a platform to other charities like Salaam Charity and Rise<br>Charity, to raise awareness and funds for the people suffering in war-<br>stricken regions around the world.<br>MMI has held NADRA surgeries for the local Pakistani community.<br>MMI has introduced its youth recreational program, which required the<br>purchase of a community centre which can be used for the youths to use.<br>Funds where successfully raised and a building renovation are being<br>undertaken for this very purpose.<br>MMI has worked in collaborations with Blackburn Rovers and Accrington<br>Stanley to provide the local community the opportunity to attend a further<br>football match in Accrington and the Ewood Park football grounds. The<br>trips including collection of the attendees from the Masajid facilities to the<br>grounds and back, food and amazing seats. For some this is the first time<br>they have attended a football match. This trip offered children and<br>parents an exciting and amazing experience; one they will cherish for<br>years to come, for others it’s an opportunity to mix with the wider<br>community improving cohesion.<br>MMI has opened its doors to the Masajid to the community outside of the<br>Muslim faith by allowing Primary School children the opportunity to<br>engage with Islamic scholars and gain a better understanding of the<br>Islamic faith. This also helps those from the wider community better<br>understand, integrate and improve better ties and cohesion within their<br>respective communities.<br>MMI has motivated the community to come together during this very<br>difficult economic time, helping others regardless of their beliefs.|
