MMI has introduced a MMI death committee, which operates by providing emotional support or funds to pay for funeral costs, like burial plots, caskets, hearse for those who are struggling to the financial burden a funeral. MMI is working in collaboration with other organisations in order to improve the Muslim burial services within Hyndburn. Section D Achievements and performance MMI’s academic results showed improvements with our examination Summary of the main results having a 100% pass rate. We have introduced new classes achievements of the charity teaching the community how to cope with the economic situations we are during the year all facing. MMI continues the operation of the free funeral service and emotional support within MMI for all the community to use regardless of their beliefs. This has helped many grieving families through what is the most emotionally difficult experience of their life. MMI is working in collaboration with Ghausia Rizvia (Accrington), Raza Jamia (Accrington), the Hyndburn Cemeteries and Hyndburn Council in order to improve the Muslim burial services within Hyndburn. This collaboration has identified a 15-point agenda to improving these services and has been successful in completing a lot of them including have the weekend burials within Hyndburn. MMI is now working towards completing Shroud Burial amongst other things listed on the 15 points. MMI has arranged free Nikah (wedding) ceremonies, and given the MMI space for the public to use as wedding halls which maybe too expensive to use for people due to economic constraints. MMI has distributed over 200 iftari food packs during Ramadhan and raised awareness on hunger within the local community. MMI provided a platform to other charities like Salaam Charity and Rise Charity, to raise awareness and funds for the people suffering in warstricken regions around the world. MMI has held NADRA surgeries for the local Pakistani community. MMI has introduced its youth recreational program, which required the purchase of a community centre which can be used for the youths to use. Funds where successfully raised and a building renovation are being undertaken for this very purpose. MMI has worked in collaborations with Blackburn Rovers and Accrington Stanley to provide the local community the opportunity to attend a further football match in Accrington and the Ewood Park football grounds. The trips including collection of the attendees from the Masajid facilities to the grounds and back, food and amazing seats. For some this is the first time they have attended a football match. This trip offered children and parents an exciting and amazing experience; one they will cherish for years to come, for others it’s an opportunity to mix with the wider community improving cohesion. MMI has opened its doors to the Masajid to the community outside of the Muslim faith by allowing Primary School children the opportunity to engage with Islamic scholars and gain a better understanding of the Islamic faith. This also helps those from the wider community better understand, integrate and improve better ties and cohesion within their respective communities. MMI has motivated the community to come together during this very difficult economic time, helping others regardless of their beliefs.
