We aim to advance the Islamic faith in Great Harwood for the public
benefit, mainly but not exclusively by means of providing a place of
worship, religious education and pastoral care in the community.
Arranging funerals for the public regardless of their religious beliefs. MMI
has carried out funeral arrangements for the Muslims and wider
community including non-Muslims. This involves working with the
coroner, registrar, cemeteries and direct families in order to provide a
free funeral service to them. MMI has introduced a MMI death committee,
which operates by providing emotional support or funds to pay for funeral
costs, like burial plots, caskets, hearse for those who are struggling to the
financial burden a funeral.
MMI continues to arrange Nikah (wedding) ceremonies and given the
MMI space for the public to use as wedding hall.
MMI has helped the welfare of my community and surrounding
communities including and inspired friends, family and volunteers to
contribute and take part in helping others in need.
MMI set up a covid support group which helped train, educate and
support our local community on the latest updates and new norms
throughout the pandemic. This support group now also educates the
community how to cope with the economic situations we are all facing.
MMI has arranged many community gathering, including NADRA
surgeries for the Pakistani community.
We declare that the trustees have worked in accordance to the guidance
issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.

Section D

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Achievements and erformance p

Our academic results showed improvements with our examination results having a 100% pass rate. We have introduced new classes teaching the community how to cope with the economic situations we are all facing.

We continued the operation of the free funeral service and emotional support within MMI for all the community to use regardless of their beliefs. This has helped many grieving families through what is the most emotionally difficult experience of their life.

We have arranged free Nikah (wedding) ceremonies, and given the MMI space for the public to use as wedding halls which maybe too expensive to use for people due to economic constraints.

We distributed over 200 iftari food packs during Ramadhan and raised awareness on hunger within the community.

MMI provided a platform to other charities like UWT, to raise funds for the Floods within Pakistan and held NADRA surgeries for the local Pakistani community.

MMI has introduced its youth recreational program, which required the purchase of a community centre which can be used for the youths to use. Funds where successfully raised and a building has been purchased for this very purpose.

We have motivated the community to come together during this very difficult economic time, helping others regardless of their beliefs.
