The main activity of West Wight Men
In Sheds is the running workshops
for the public benefit. It is aimed at
preventing people, particularfy but
not exclusively older people, within
West Wight area of the Isle of Wight
and the surrounding areas from
becoming socially excluded. also, to
relieve the needs of those people
who a￿ socially excluded and to
assist them to integrate into society
through the provision of these
workshop facilities. In the interests
of maintaining a safe environment,
those enjoying the facilFties of the
shed are Members.

We have built up a positive community
p￿senCe where ￿0P[e are able
to stop at our workshop to find out what
we can offer.
We continue to help organizations and
people with repairs and restoration of
memorial benches and other community
facilities and assets
Working with wood has been our first
and main activity. We have been given
tools (small hand tools and large
pieces of machinery) and bought
more or upgraded with grant funding.
The main achievements during this
reporting period are:_
1. The addition of a further machine
workshop funded by the family of
a deceased member- our fonner
Workshop Master.
2. Running the weekly workshop
sessions and various special events
throughout the year.
Membership numbers are falrly stable
with some leavers but with more
additional new members. Ourtotal of 23,
including two lady members, has an age
range of 28 to 88 years.
Community Engagements: Key
objective is to raise the profile of the
Shed in the local Community.
To this end, Shed members have
been helping to maintain and resto
memorial benches and planters in the
local area.
A Facebook. Twitter, Instagram &
Linkedln page has been used to
ublicise our activities.

Financial Review

Our income forthe period was £17,145
from grants, member donations and
hosting car boot sales on behalf of the
local Parish Council.
Operating expense was £12,128. We
also made a sizable investment in an
additional workshop to accommodate
ourexpanding needs.
Accordingly there was only a minimal
increase in our cash in hand position -
£310.
The continuing aim to build a reserve
sufflcient to coverthe annual operating
costs.
