2024 was a successful year for RLSCC. The AGM in June saw the election of a new committee to
manage the club's daily operations.
Recreational Group: Delivered beginner and advanced coaching sessions, including white water and
pool sessions early in the year. This stabilized membership, with new recruits balancing retiring
members. The club continued its coach development program, offering training for skill
improvement, support for coaching certifications, and development opportunities for junior
coaches. We are additionally developing Stand Up Paddleboard and Open Canoe coaching.

Racing Team: Recognized by British Canoeing for talent development. Received funding via the
Talent Pathway to support coaching provision, although the national Para Canoe Fund was
discontinued. We have increased our activity in coaching Adult Racing Paddlers.
Events: The Hasler Race took place with a good field of entries from across the region. We planned a
Warwick Sprints Event which was cancelled due to bad weather. The Doggy Paddle was successfully
held with a record number of participants- we extend our thanks to Michael Gallion for the hard
work he has Put into organizing the Doggy Paddle over the years.
Standards and Compliance: Paddle UK introduced new Standards for Deployment in 2024, which the
club is adopting. Our commitment to high standards enabled us to meet the tightened Safeguarding
requirements and we are on track to meet all the other deadlines.
