ENTITLEMENT TO APPOINT 1 OR MORE TRUSTEES: There is no person or external body with an entitlement to appoint any trustees. Trustees are appointed by the members.

PURPOSES: The purpose of the charity is to provide a community transport service, for such inhabitants of the parish of Greatworth & Halse and its environs, who are in need of such a service because of age, sickness or disability (mental or physical) or poverty or lack of availability of adequate and safe public transport services.

MAIN ACTIVITIES: The main activities are related to running a community minibus to provide transport services to members of the GCTA Travel Club. The minibus services are run under a Section 19 Permit which allows us to transport members of the GCTA Travel Club but does not allow us to transport the general public. The activities include:

SECTION 4 OF THE 2006 ACT: The trustees state that they have complied with Section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 giving due regard to guidance on public benefit published by the Charities Commission.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE DURING THE YEAR:

The trustees are sad to report that our chairman, Richard Edwards, passed away during the last year. As a result, Richard Hooper was elected as Chairman, and he was replaced as Treasurer by Martin Gaskin. Michael Froom resigned as a trustee as he was finding it difficult to spare time to undertake his trustee duties.

The remaining trustees elected two additional trustees and welcomed Victoria Jane Murphy and James Dobson. These changes in trustees have been recorded on the Charity Commission website.

GCTA continues to be successful in providing transport services for our local community. We have increased the number of members and now provide transport for over 730 members of the GCTA Travel Club. Membership is free and all passengers must be a member of the Travel Club as defined by our Section 19 permit.

The number of journeys in the year has increased to around 250 with over 2,000 passenger journeys in the past year. We are getting enquiries and providing transport from a wider area but continue to focus mainly on our own community.

In the last year, our income is comprised almost entirely of voluntary donations from passengers. This resulted in our financial reserves decreasing during the last year. We have approximately 1 year remaining on our 3-year lease and we are currently looking for grants to enable us to commence another 3-year lease to follow on from the current one.

All the services are run by volunteers, from administrators and drivers to volunteers for cleaning the minibus. Our Trustees continue to serve, providing the strategic guidance and financial controls to ensure the efficient use of funds.

RESERVES: At the end of the financial year, the charity has reserves of £9,875.43 held as cash at the bank. These reserves are required to operate the transport services over the next 12 months. All money held will be used solely and entirely on the provision of community transport services.

CUSTODIAN TRUSTEE: The charity does not hold any funds or assets as a custodian trustee on behalf of others.
