**Appointment of Trustees:** 

New Trustees are appointed by Newark and Sherwood District Council (6) and Southwell Town Council (3) at annual meetings in the Spring. 

**Objectives and activities** 

The objects of the CIO are: FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND, IN PARTICULAR, FOR (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) THE INHABITANTS OF SOUTHWELL AND DISTRICT, THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A SWIMMING POOL, SPORTS HALL AND SUCH OTHER SPORTING, RECREATIONAL AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES AS THE TRUSTEES CONSIDER APPROPRIATE FROM TIME-TO-TIME IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS. 

The Trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission Guidance on public benefit in directing the work of the charity. 

**Achievements and performance** 

The CIO was established on 17 April 2020. The intention was to transfer the assets and operations of an existing unincorporated Trust (number 522301) in due course to the CIO. This did not happen during this reporting period. Therefore the CIO was inactive for the reporting period. 

**Financial review** 

The CIO has had no income nor incurred any expenditure in the reporting year, because all operations remain with the existing charity, number 522301

The Trustees declare that they have approved the Trustees’ report and financial statements above.
