## **Who are we, and what do we do?** 

The aim of the MCS Foundation is to support disadvantaged and underprivileged children, as well as supporting their ability to access equal learning opportunities. 

## **Our Mission** 

Our core mission is to provide financial assistance to organisations, or charities, which are committed to working with disadvantaged and underprivileged children and young people, with the aim of improving their learning opportunities. This also includes financial support to provide for a child or young person’s emotional and physical wellbeing to be addressed.

By collaborating with and financially supporting charities that work with disadvantaged and underprivileged children, we aim to break down barriers that limit their access to equal life opportunities. Our focus is on providing positive educational experiences that empower these children to reach their full potential. 

## **Our Vision** 

Our vision is that children and young people can access opportunities that contribute to their learning and growth, and that enable them to thrive and succeed in life. 

Empowering each child or young person we support to reach their full potential emphasizes our belief that every child deserves the chance to fulfil their dreams and aspirations through learning and knowledge. 

## **Goals & Objectives** 

- Enhance the existing learning opportunities for children and young people from disadvantaged or underprivileged backgrounds. 

- Encourage a culture of learning and skill development among children and young people through increasing accessibility to educational opportunities. 

- Collaborate with organisations and charities to provide or create initiatives which increase a child or young person’s ability to learn. 

- Provide financial donations to charities or not-for-profit organisations that work with children and young people from disadvantaged or underprivileged backgrounds, with a particular focus on supporting their learning. 

- Through these donations support the not-for-profit organisations or charities to fund development of technology, infrastructure,

educational materials or provide financial assistance to children or young people which would enhance their ability to learn and study. 

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** 

Charities are chosen carefully by the trustees of the MCS Foundation for their low overheads and which direct only a minimum of the donation money they receive towards operational and fundraising costs. This takes time and due diligence to pick the best charity which suits the aims and goals of the foundation which is to support underprivileged and disadvantaged children.

- policy programme related investment; 

- contribution made by volunteers. 

In this budget year, 2023 – 2024, all the six charities which were provided a donation had been previously gifted a donation by the MCS Foundation. We have good and consistent communication with all these charities and receive positive feedback about the impact that this has on their ability to provide support and care to the disadvantaged and underprivileged children that they serve. 

MCS Foundation does not have any external volunteers, however the five trustees are not paid for the work that they provide to the MCS Foundation.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

Ongoing financial commitment to six charities in three different countries; United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. Providing financial support to the same charities has meant that these charities can rely on financial consistency from the MCS Foundation, which is important for their planning and for the ongoing care provided to the children and families they support. 

The MCS Foundation has effective communication with all the charities it donates to. The MCS Foundation also receives regular updates from the charities about the impact that the financial support is providing for the children and families they work with. 

The MCS Foundation will continue to support these charities moving forward and is also looking for further charities that it can donate to. Charities are currently being explored in the countries that MCS Rental Software operates in and charities in France and America are being considered.
