Objectives and Activities
Spellow Lane Evangelical Church ("The Church") is committed to enabling as many people as possible to worship at the church and become part of the community. The Church holds church services; prayer meetings and social events throughout the year, such as coffee mornings.
Achievements and Performance
Yet another successful year for the Church. Numbers continued to grow as we welcome newcomers from all over the world. An Interim Church Council was formed to try and address the needs of the people in the church and to begin an outreach in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Growing interest and involvement of young people in Church activities
There was more live worship in church, including solos from various people and our choir.
We held Communion Service on a regular basis.
The Sunday School numbers continued to rise promisingly.
We continued celebrated various Birthdays and Anniversaries.
We held 'Breakfast with the Bible' sessions for young people and held preparatory courses for baptism. People contributed daily devotionals, poetry, hymn’s and shared their news. Bringing people together to support one another.
Activities, including Sunday School, Mother & Babies group, Breakfast Bible class and Choir, continue. We distributed clothes, shoes and toys. We held a Christmas theatre and a coffee break with the theme 'Families with special children matter.' Also were able to provide a Warm Space during the winter months.
We hope to continue to help and support the church congregation and local community in whatever way we can. Continuing with partnerships and other organizations.
We understand the importance of support and togetherness, and intend to continue as we go forward with trust in Christ Jesus.

SPELLOW LANE EVANGELICAL CHURCH
Independent Examiner's Report
For the year ending 31 March 2024
Report to the trustees/members of: Spellow Lane Evangelical Church On the accounts for the year ended: 31 March 2024 Charity No: 1189064
Respective responsibilities of the trustees and the examiner
The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
(a) examine the accounts (under section 43 of the act),
-
(b) to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act), and
-
(c) to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the reports is limited top those matters set on in the statement below.
Independent examiner's statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
1 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements: (a) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act; and (b) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act; have not been met; or
-
2 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
