- Organizacja “Golden Age Social Day Care, Bradford” poprzednio znana jako „Polish Day Centre, Bradford” jest obecnie zarejestrowana jako organizacja Charytatywna czyli „ Charity ” z Charity Commission w Wielkiej Brytanii . W związku z tym Komitet jest zobowiązany sporządzać sprawozdania z naszej działalności i wysyłać je do Charity Commission. Komitet również wysyła sprawozdania do Bradford Council aby utrzymywać przyznany nam przez nich grant, jak również do WYCAS, (West Yorkshire Community Accounting Service) który nam sprawdza i zatwierdza rozliczenia finansowe.

The organisation “ Golden Age Social Day Care, Bradford ” previously known as „ Polish Day ” Centre, Bradford is now a registered Charity with The Charity Commission in the UK. Because of this the Committee is required to provide a report of it’s activities to the Commission and also to Bradford Council from whom we get a grant to support our activities. We also provide this report to WYCAS, (West Yorkshire Community Accounting Service) who do official accounting work for us to provide us with an official financial statement for the Charity Commission.
In order to fulfil the Commission’s requirements for a Charity, the Committee members meet a number of times during the year.
- “Day Centre” było otwarte w Środy i w Piątki od godziny 10:00 to 14:00. Klienci, za niewielką opłatą mogą dostać dwu-daniowy obiad: zupa oraz główne danie . Członkowie biorący udział w spotkaniach „Day Centre” spotykają się ze znajomymi i przyjaciółmi. Promujemy cały czas „ niezależność ” do naszych członków Day Centre, przez spotykanie sie z innymi osobami, przez nawiazywanie znajomości i przyjaźni z innymi uczestnikami spotkań. To pomaga w redukowaniu izolacji i poczucia samotności prze naszych uczestnikow.
Często organizowane sa różne zajęcia takie jak: delikatne ćwiczenia gimnastyczne, gra w domino, bingo, zajęcia plastyczne takie jakie robienie kartek na Swięta, jest też Śpiewamy razem”, przychodza do nas osoby z zewnątrz które prezentują różne tematy dla informacji i do dyskusji. W miarę możliwosci planujemy wycieczki lub wyjazdy poza okolice oraz inne atrakcje .
Przyjeżdża to do nas regularnie fryzierka, oraz odbywają się różne imprezy, takie jak: urodziny członków, rocznice obchodzone przez członków
Nasz proboszcz, Ks. Waldemar Hareza , uczestniczy w sesjach „Day Centre” w każdą środę i piątek i jest do dyspozycji WSZYSTKICH uczestników, służąc wskazówkami oraz pomocą duchową.
Najważniejszym jednak elementem naszych spotkań jest troska o samopoczucie klientów .
Klienci przyjeżdżają do POKu taksówkami, używają również „Access Bus” udostępniony przez Braford Council, lub są przywożeni na miejsce przez członków rodziny.
The Day Centre is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm. Clients for a small fee can purchase a 2-course meal consisting of soup and a main course.
During our twice weekly social gatherings that are held in the Polish Community Centre we try to promote to our Members, independence through meeting others, to develop, maintain friendships and relationships.
This reduces isolation and loneliness by members engaging in activities such as the group meal
times, class exercise, Singing together sessions and other game activities such as dominoes and bingo; craft lessons like making cards; we have invited speakers to encourage discussion, conversation, physical and mental wellbeing; planned trips.
We have, on regular basis, a visiting, polish speaking hairdresser during our session. We also organise other events such as member’s birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
Our Parish Priest, Father Waldemar Hareza attends both Wednesday and Friday sessions of the Day Centre and is available to ALL attendees for spiritual help and guidance.
However, the main task of our sessions is to take care of the well-being of our members. For the twice weekly sessions our members come to the “Polish Community Centre” by taxi, Access Bus and also by friends or family members.

Kwiecień - Wyprodukowaliśmy ulotkę w dwóch językach ze streszczeniem opisu o naszej działalności i rozdalismy ja wszystkim uczestnikom Day Centre. Zostawilismy tez te ulotki a Polskim kosciele i innych miejscach na terenie Bradford gdzie Polacy sa obecni aby promowac nasze Day Centre.
April - We have produced a leaflet in two languages about our “Day Centre” which we gave to all attendees at the Day Centre These are also available from our Church and other outlets and Committee members to promote our Day Centre and the Charity “Golden Age Social Day Care, Bradford” behind it.
Maj - Miejscowa Polska Szkola zorganizowała akademie z okazji 3-go Maja. Grupa członków „Day Centre” wziela udzial w tej uroczystosci.

Agnieszka i Grazyna wziely udzial w spotkaniu z Naz Shah, Bradford MP była to dyskusja na temat wsparcia dla osób chorych na demencję

June - Quality workshop about Falls and Prevention took place in City Hall and was attended by Grazyna and Agnieszka
21-go Czerwca zorganizowaliśmy doroczną wycieczke. Była to wycieczka nad morze do Whitby. 21[st] June, we have organised our annual day out trip. This time it was to Whitby by the sea
Lipiec – Do POKu przyszło 3 pracowników NHS z organizacji “Academic Unit for Aging and stroke Research” i rozmawiali o korzystaniu przez osoby starsze z IT tzn. (komputerow, tabletow czy telefonow) w ramach NHS, ponieważ to jest obecnie akceptowana metoda komunikacji NHS z pacjentami.
July - In July we had a visit from “Academic Unit for Aging and stroke Research” 3 workers from NHS came and discuss about elderly usage IT in NHS as this is the currently accepted method of communicating of NHS with it’s patients.
Sierpień - Holly Watson z zespołu „Adult and Community Team” przyszła na spotkanie z opiekunami.
August - Holly Watson from “Adult and Community Team” came to a meeting with Carers.
W Sierpniu odbył się tradycyjny „Obiad Żołnierski” w którym wzięło udział wielu naszych członków Day Centre.
August - In August, a traditional “Veteran’s Dinner” took place in which many of our members took part.

September – we had a “Day Out” at “Golden Acres Park” and Murgatroid fish and chips restaurant
Październik - Rizwana z NHS przyszla do naszego ośrodka i zrobila badanie krwi na obecność wirusa zapalenia wątroby typu C.
October - Rizwana from NHS came to Day Centre to do blood tests for Hepatitis C .
Listopad - odbyla sie prezentacja przez pana Stephen Plough na temat zapobiegania upadkom. November - Falls prevention presentation was done by Stephen Plough
Listopad - Agnieszka uczestniczyła w spotkaniu w sprawie „Ochrony Grup Narażonych” na nadużycia. Spotkanie odbyło sie w budynku Ratusza w Bradford.
November - Agnieszka attended “ Safeguarding ” meeting in City Hall in Bradford
W Grudniu robiliśmy kartki na Boże Narodzenie . Dochód ze sprzedarzy przekazany został na potrzeby Day Centre
In December – we were making Christmas Cards and we sold them for fund raising purposes

March - We also celebrated “Pan Józef Gałęza’s ” 103[rd] birthday with anyone who wanted to join in his birthday celebrations.

March - Stan Dobrzanski – committee member gave presentation about: How to remember to take your medications
Pani Teresa Davison zorganizowała kilka sesji wyprzedaży „ Wcześniej ulubionych ubrań ” które pozwoliły naszym członkom nabyć wysokiej jakości ubrania po bardzo dostępnej cenie, jak również że nikt nie musiał jechać gdzieś daleko do sklepu. Dochody ze sprzedarzy zostały przekazane na cele naszego „Day Centre”.
Mrs. Teresa Davison organised a sale of items of “previously loved clothes” which allowed our members to buy quality clothes at very low prices without having to go out to shops and provided fundraising for our organization.
Aby promować nasze “Day Centre” komitet zorganizował stronę internetową dla naszej organizacji. Strona ta pozwala potencjalnym nowym członkom/klientom dowiedzieć się o naszej działalności oraz o tym co oferujemy naszym członkom gdy dołącza do naszej grupy „Day Centre”. Ta strona również pozwala „Social Services” pokierować potencjalnych nowych klientów w naszą stronę jak też poinformować ich o naszej działalności.
Mamy wiele zdjęć z naszych sesji „Day Centre” aby pokazać obrazowo naszą działaność dla osób zainteresowanych. Zamieściliśmy tam też dużo informacji o naszej działalności.

In order to promote our “Day Centre” the Committee has set up a Website for the organisation. This enables any potential new clients to visit the website and see what is on offer and read all relevant practical information regarding joining the organisation. It also allows “Social Services” workers to direct potential clients to the website and indeed gives the social workers a flavour of what we do .
A number of photographs were taken during various Day Centre sessions. Day Centre members were happy to take part in photo sessions for our website. Historical images were also included on the website.
A comprehensive write up of all relevant information was collated and approved by the committee. The website was kindly set up by a friend of the organisation for free and we’re are pleased to report it is now active.

Te wszystkie działania pomagają naszym członkom w poczuciu własnej wartości, utrzymywaniu dumy z własnego wyglądu przez przygotowywanie się to tych spotkań, co z koleji pomaga w utrzymywaniu niezależności i poczucia że jesteśmy częścią naszej wspólnoty.
This helps the Day Centre members with self-esteem, pride in appearance by getting ready to the venue which in turn helps with independence and self-help and a feeling of community.

Na wszystkie swoje działania organizacja „ Golden Age Social Day Care, Bradford ” otrzymuje obecnie ograniczony w czasie grant od Bradford Council . Z tych pieniędzy jest opłacany czynsz do Parafii za wynajęcie sali POKu, opłaty za prąd i gas jak również ubezbieczenie. Pracownicy kuchni i osoby prowadzące i nadzorujące zajęcia w Day Centre otrzymują odpowiednie wynagrodzenia za ich pracę z tych pieniędzy.

„ Golden Age Day Centre, Bradford ” utrzymuje własne, osobne od Parafii ubezpieczenie . Opłacamy również WYCAS za co-roczne oficjalne i akceptowane przez Bradford Council sprawdzanie naszych finansów.
Niestety, ze względu ograniczonych funduszy w Bradford Council, grant na Piątkowe Day Centre na rok 2025/26 został nam odmówiony. Jednak, Piatkowe Day Centre bedzie dalej otwarte a my będziemy się starać o fundusze na utrzymanie naszego Piątkowego Day Centre z innych środkow.
Golden Age Social Day Care, Bradford currently receives a time-limited grant from Bradford Council for all its activities. This money pays the Parish rent for the POK hall, electricity and gas bills and insurance. The kitchen staff and those running and supervising the activities in the Day Centre are paid appropriately for their work from this money.
Golden Age Day Centre, Bradford maintains its own separate insurance from the Parish. We also pay WYCAS for an annual official and approved audit of our finances by Bradford Council.
Unfortunately due to limited funds within Bradford Council , we have been refused a grant for the Friday Day Centre for 2025/26. However, the Friday Day Centre will remain open and we will be seeking funding from other sources to maintain the Friday Day Centre .

Objectives and activities
The charity's objects
To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with elderly people in Bradford and the surrounding areas who are socially excluded by combatting loneliness and social isolation arising as a result of their age, infirmity, ill-health, disability or social circumstance, in particular but not exclusively by the provision of:
Social and recreational facilities and events; and
Advice, support and information which is capable of reducing their social isolation.
For the purpose of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors: unemployment, financial hardship, youth or old age; and ill health (physical or mental).
The charity's main activities
We organise activities to break the isolation of members and sustain cultural values and enable members and their families to take part in social and historic gatherings. We raise funds to provide members with social meetings, training opportunities, information and a range of stimulating activities.
We support and promote cultural and historical identity of the Polish community in Bradford areas and build links with existing Polish people’s networks across Britain and Europe.
We promote healthy living, provide information and contact with specialist services in order to benefit their quality of life, health and well-being and sustain their ability to live independently.
Activities include: chair exercise, Dance On, Polish TV and videos, books, newspapers and magazines, games of dominoes and cards, bingo, day trips, dinner parties, monthly mass for spiritual needs also different types of craft activities; painting, seasonal crafts and gardening programme.

In setting our objectives and planning our activities our Trustees have given serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit.

The Law Firm “Silvertime” gave a presentation about Wills and Power of Attorney.
In March we celebrated “Pan Józef Gałęza’s” 103rd birthday with anyone who wanted to join in his birthday celebrations.

Financial review
The net receipts for the year were £3,637, including net receipts of £7,766 on unrestricted funds and net payments of £4,129 on restricted funds.
Reserves policy
The charity's free reserves, at the year end were £44,524.
The charity has no reserves policy at this time, however the trustees are aware of the need for one and plan to look at this for the next financial year.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Golden Age Social Day Care, Bradford
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the CIO for the year ended 31 March 2025, which are set out on pages 6 to 9.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the CIO you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the CIO's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Charities Act; 2 the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1 Accounting policies
Basis of accounting
The trustees have taken advantage of section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 and have prepared the accounts on a receipts and payments basis.
There has been no change to the accounting policies since last year.
No changes have been made to the accounts for previous years.
Taxation
As a charity the organisation benefits from rates relief and is generally exempt from income tax and capital gains tax but not from VAT. Irrecoverable VAT is included in the cost of those items to which it relates.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.
Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Golden Age Social Day Care, Bradford
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the CIO for the year ended 31 March 2025, which are set out on pages 6 to 9.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the CIO you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the CIO's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Charities Act; 2 the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
