issues of note have beeo reported during the year.

public servi¢e of Christian worship. and also provid¢ various combinations of youth work, children's
work. coffee shop. alpha COUTse. e
The Church Leadership is committed to enabling &8 n￿lY p¢ople possible to worship God and to
become Fort of the community at CSBC. They oversee the range of arfivities that happen in and
around the church and strive to reach the many and varied group5 that liv¢ in Islin￿on and beyond.
The t￿St¢eS hav¢ had due ryard to the Charity Commission'5 guidan¢¢ on public ben¢fit. CSBC'S
public benefit is set out in the following pragraph and in the Achievanents and Perforniance section

To undertake activities as a mean of achieving the Charttsble Objectivts. the church in its own, or
with other church or grou￿. The aim is to show ￿ love of Jesus Christ in Eoth word and d¢ed. brin8
people into a close relatiork8hip with Gcrfl, to supp)rt Charitsble actio￿ and to encourage relationships
with oth¢r Chri51ians.
To facilitat¢ this Work li is imp)rtant that the fabric of the Cross Street Bapli8t Church ￿MpleX and
the Manse is maintsin¢d.
Achlevements andPerforniance
The Church Sunday Servi￿ in this'financial year. welcomed several guests including regional
minisiers and guest sp¢akers from overseas. The church held one marriage service of two valued
mernbers that the Lord joined together. Th¢ churth w&$ blessed to have 8 baptisms. 3 in July 4 in
Novemt¢r 2024 and one in Ma￿h 2025. 1 wo chU￿h memkn s&dly p&8sed away. and th¢ church
held serviees to comm¢morate them. Prayer life continued to grow with E*ay¢r meetings held w¢¢kiy
on Monday nights, followed by a week of prayer held in th¢ morning for the first wttk of wttk of
¢very month via zoom. Prayer also held in Sm￿1 groups before and during our Sund&y services.
The church ¢ontinued to facilitale service for thos¢ who car￿￿ make it in Ttrson by sharin¥ our
Sunday service over zoom. Stay & Play toddler group Lillle SunLrams and the Living R￿rn
ensured our doors were open to the community.
The church held services on Sunday mornings at I18m and endoj the year with an averag¢ attendan¢¢
of 65 adults and children. The worship l¢am were sUP￿rted by a parthership with IMVQ Spanish
speakin8 church who 8SSi5ted with leading W0￿h]P during Sunday service. The team continues to leod
worship for Sunday serYi¢¢s atsl other events the church held throughout the y¢Br.
The young p¢ople's ministy that was established for 10- 15-year-o1¢18 the previous year grew and
saw around 30 young r*ople 8ttend on Thursday aftenMx)ns. The church Continued investing in
stydent ministry whi¢h supported students that share in our values and worship with by offering
small 8Tants.
Our church continues to giv¢ Wral ¢8re where we provide bthh¢r comforL encoura8¢menL and
supm through our lif¢ 8roups and community supwrt outreach and leade￿hIP team.
Communlty Hub
CSBC is a community church I￿￿ted in Jslingtoti's Angel shopping distrid betwM the two main
highstreets (Upper stre￿ and Essex RO￿). It is surrounded by a mix￿re of wcial and private ho￿1ng
and has a local school to the T￿. The chur¢h attempts to reach out to and serve this diverse and
constantly ctrLangin8 community. It also h&8 strong link5 with many other I￿al churches and hosts
ministers, meetings and ¢ombined gthings.

The building acts as a hub for other churches. including on EthiopiarÉ Church and a Spanish Speaking
Church that hol(L8 actiytties on Friday and Sa)rday ¢venings. The Alcoholics Anonymo￿$ support
group provided support to tKople seeking to overcome addiction5. The Islington Centre for Migrants
& Refygees continues providing supwrt and advice for r¢fugtts and migrants. The nursery occupying
th¢ rear hall continued to trade and s¢rYed young childr¢n in the are& The church Wds not hired ftir

Spr¢ading the Gospel of J&ws Chris( His life. death 8nd resurr￿tIon aye fimdam¢nts] to all that the
church does. The ¢ontinued fellowship activities and h¢ld a women lunch that had oveT 20 attendees.
The Café seen engagement steadily rise with a diverse group of [￿PIC from ihe chuwh and wider
local community attending. The weekly Stsy & Play group call¢d 'Little SunF*arns' r¢gularly attracts
large nUrn￿r of children plus their parents or careTS. The new church Youth Group {10-13yeaTS old)
gatherings had around 30 young people shaTiDg food. discussiojs & support. The young adults group
number de¢r¢ased to around 5 attendees.
In Septemb¢r the church cominued in evangelism in the community in p8rtr*rship wilh The
Turning" movement that Seeks lo reach out ￿0p1¢ in London.
The church 5tsrt¢d a new iknnership with Love Beyond which saw the church become hom¢ to
mature missiotwy couple, that are helping in variows ministrie5 su¢h 4 English classes on Tuesday
evenings. youth group and little suntrtams.
The church fornied new links with London City Mi&sioJ4 8nd w¢ mcmi￿ts support with
preachingj youth and 04rtrea¢h.
The ¢hurch continued to SUPFrf)rt Ben Harley 8nd the Bomiw projecl in Viettwn. Our members
mission work in Egbe. Nig¢ri4 continued with severnl mission trips for this proje¢L

Sunday services continue to be well 8ttended 8nd the ¢hur¢h has welcome new m¢mbers, hosted
several guest speakers, and Continued to hold Virt￿ and in-person life group$ and prnyer meetings.
The church intends to explore ways of increasing evangelism and outreach. The support ieam of
volunteers helped to meet P￿tiCal and relatiOTJal nee(b of members and further improve church
fellowship.
The church continued to receive most of its income from hiriftgs. donors also gave generously. Funds
increwd 2024 which help the church to continue Éts mission to bring people lives to Christ, support
chur¢h ministries 8nd in¢re8se our engagement with the ItKai community. The church invested in
lighting in the rnain hail aTrJ new toilet windows. The Manse imwovem¢nt and repairs also finaliscd.
The ¢hurch maintains the plans to improve the premis&s ea¢h year making & welcA)ming and waTm
place to worship. Th¢ church plans for more essential r¢pairs and improvements to the church
building and exploring the pjssibility of lyJildiDg an extension in the or¢a where the old ixiiler room

The Church's income incre&sed slightly to £172.731.02 for the 202¥25 fiscai year due kn donations
aThd increas¢d rentsl ￿1Vity froTn th¢ church tenants. There was a slight increase in receipts from
Tithes and olTerings from Chuwh members and visitors. The in¢ome of (£115.716.12) received
through rent and new occasional hiring YemaiT*d at 67.(M)Vo of the income ¢omtAred to the previous
year. Donations of (£57.014.90) also remain at 33.IXI% (£56.727.72). Th¢ church ¢ontinue5 to ttceive
an Income from interest on savinggdewsit accounts.
Th¢ total expenditure w&s £108.118.29. This figure Tepr¢sents diTe¢t cosL SWOn Cost & governan¢e
cosl which is lower than the previous year. The Capi￿ expendibjre foT the year w&$ £32,203.60 for
church building maintenance and £16.288 for the maDse expendilur¢. these figures can b¢ found in the
fixed assets for depreciation. The Trustees will IxgiD negotiations ￿ renew the Nursery Lease. which
is the main source of income.
The church reserves hold £50.IXM), including interest for this year, in line with the Charity
Commission guidelines. The repairs and improvem¢nts in the manse hav¢ now t¢ell compl¢ted. We
will ¢ontinue to invest further into youth worL internship programs. commwiiry projc¢ts and exl¢nd
Ihe church pY¢mi5es by building a n¢w room in the futuff. The ¢hurch has r¢mained financially stable
this year. Rental in¢om¢ is likely to be higher nexi year.
Reserves Policy
The reserv¢s policy ofcross Street lyapti￿ Church is to hold 14 months of all expenditure to allow
the ¢huYch to adapt to any ¢F￿nge5 in the income or expenditure of the church. The tru5t¢¢s currently
lieve this amount to b¢ £36000.
