Activities

Our mission is to advance the research and applications of cultural evolutionary studies. We support all evolutionary approaches to the study of human and nonhuman animal culture.

Objects: (1) To Advance The Education Of The Public In General (and Particularly Amongst Researchers And Scholars Worldwide) On Cultural Evolution And To Promote Research For The Public Benefit In All Aspects Of That Subject And To Disseminate The Useful Results. (2) The Advancement Of Scientific Research In The Subject Of Cultural Evolution Thereby Promoting The Increase In The Store Of Useful Knowledge, Understanding And Learning In This Subject Amongst Researchers And Scholars Worldwide.(3) For The Purposes Of This Clause, Æcultural Evolutionæ Refers To Any Evolutionary Approach To The Study Of Human Or Nonhuman Animal Culture. This Encompasses The Evolutionary Sub-Disciplines Of All Of The Social, Psychological And Biological Sciences, And From Linguistics, History And Philosophy, Mathematics And Computer Science. We Also Draw Upon, And Contribute To, Applied Fields Such As Medicine, Psychiatry, Community Development, International Relations, The Agricultural Sciences, And The Sciences Of Past And Present Environmental Change.(4) These Objects Will Be Achieved By The Following Means:ò Arranging And Coordinating An International Ces Conference With The Aim Of Disseminating Cultural Evolution Research To The General Public And Particularly Amongst Researchers And Scholarsò To Sponsor A Journal Or Journals In Order To Disseminate Cultural Evolution Research To The General Public And Particularly Amongst Researchers And Scholars Worldwideò To Disseminate Information About The Activities, Collaborations, Jobs And Funding Of Interest To Ces Members On The Website And Other Online Mediaò To Provide Ces Members With Research And Travel Grants To Advance Scientific Knowledge In The Subject Of Cultural Evolutionò To Sponsor And Organize Workshops And Meetings To Promote Understanding Of Cultural Evolution, Facilitate Research Collaborations, And Further Research Into Cultural Evolutionò To Promote High Quality Teaching Of Cultural Evolution At All Levels (school, Undergraduate And Postgraduate)ò To Enhance The Public Understanding Of, And Engagement In, The Field Of Cultural Evolutionò To Raise Funds To Support Ces Activities
