Trustees Annual Report for the period ending 31st December 2020
MITHAQ INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION FOR PEOPLES RIGHTS Charity registration number: 1188927
The Covid 19 pandemic has had a major impact on our efforts to get the charity up and running.
UK Banks paused the opening of new charity bank accounts, which has meant that we have been unable to commence our fund raising activities.
Additionally, 3 of our 4 trustees were in the process of renewing their passports - applications were submitted to HM Passport Office in February 2021, but the new passports only arrived in mid January 2022.
As a result, we have no funds/reserves at present.
Full details of our accounts will be available on the Charities Commission website as soon as the charity is running effectively.
With the Covid situation now easing, and once we are able to open a suitable bank account, we intend to move forward enthusiastically towards launching the charity.
Public Benefit Statement
Our Charity was formed to provide humanitarian support for refugees, displaced persons and their dependants, initially in the UK, then subsequently in Iraq and Turkey.

Summary of Public Benefits
In our first year, we intend to help people who have arrived legitimately in the UK as a result of conflict, persecution, famine and other such situations in their home countries, who have not yet been able to achieve personal stability, and who are still struggling to meet fundamental life needs, such as food, clothing, basic transport and other such situations in their home countries, who have not yet been able to achieve personal stability, and who are still struggling to meet fundamental life needs, such as food, clothing, basic transport and other sundry necessary expenses.
In future years, our aim is to expand our support to help people in Iraq and Turkey who are in the greatest need, and facing the toughest challenges, including refugees, asylum seekers, displaced persons, the destitute and their dependants.
