This<br>included fundraising through craft fairs<br>though this was more useful in raising<br>awareness of our charity than raising funds.<br>The number of donors now giving regular<br>monthly donations continues to grow.<br>The planning and completion of a toilet block<br>in Mafi Abude using the restricted funds from<br>the Greenhall and Salter foundations as well<br>as donation from regular givers.<br>Community Action Ghana drilled a borehole<br>in Abunyanyana and installed a pump which<br>fed two water tanks. These tanks were put<br>on towers that the community had built at<br>either end of the village.  We also replaced a<br>broken submersible pump and a cracked<br>water tank in another Abunyanyana<br>community using funds generously given by<br>a friend.<br>Books have been obtained from friends,<br>relatives and Book Aid International and<br>distributed to libraries that we have<br>previously renovated. One outstanding but|





|||poignant gift was an Atlas that the librarian<br>at Alavanyo Kpeme library received with the<br>words ‘I have always wanted an atlas for my<br>library.’ He was welling up as he said this.|

SORP reference Grants are not made as such but the charity buys materials in Ghana so that projects can go ahead. Para 1.38 Policy on grant making Para 1.38 Policy on social investment including program related investment We do not have volunteers in the normal sense but the communities volunteer their time and resources in the construction and Para 1.38 decoration of the projects. When this is given Contribution made by a monetary value it approximates to about volunteers half of the total cost of most projects. Not only is this in itself valuable but it also gives ownership of the project to the community. Other

The library in Alavanyo Kpeme is open<br>and constantly full from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm.<br>The communities also value the safe space<br>that the libraries provide for the youth of the<br>communities where they can gather in early<br>mornings and evenings to study in safe well<br>lit clean environments.<br>There is continued anecdotal evidence<br>showing that there is less antisocial<br>behaviour from the youth in these<br>communities.<br>Seamstresses in the communities we work<br>in continue to make bags of different sizes<br>from locally available cloth which we then<br>sell in the UK and a fair trade shop in<br>Hamlyn in Germany. This provides<br>employment in the communities we operate.<br>An electric sewing machine was donated to<br>us and given to a seamstress in Alavanyo<br>Dzogbedze to train her apprentices in the<br>use of electric as well as hand machines.<br>The website continues to be accessed<br>regularly and has been viewed in excess of<br>30,000 times.<br>It is regularly updated and blogs are<br>regularly posted. Comments have been<br>made about the positive way we keep<br>individual donors aware of our activities<br>through this medium.<br>We have started using wider social media<br>such as Facebook, Instagram and X to<br>disseminate information.|
