Activities

The AGCC provides a safe, welcoming space in Swinton, Salford for people of all ages and backgrounds.We deliver health and well-being activities, crafts, social and support groups, exercise, advice, training and community events. We provide affordable space for local groups and work with partners and volunteers to reduce isolation and promote inclusion.

Objects: (1) To Work For The Relief Of Older Persons In City Of Salford Either Directly Or Through The Agency Of Other Authorities, Organisations Or Persons Engaged In Such Work. Also To Bring Together In Council, Representatives Of Any Such Authorities, Organisations, Bodies Or Persons For The Purpose Of Prompting Co-Operation In Such Work.(2) To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Preventing People From Becoming Socially Excluded, Relieving The Needs Of Those People Who Are Socially Excluded And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society.for The Purpose Of This Clause 'Socially Excluded' Means Being Excluded From Society, Or Part Of Society, As A Result Of Being A Member Of A Socially And Economically Deprived Community.(3) To Further Or Benefit The Residents Of City Of Salford, Without Distinction Of Sex, Sexsual Orientation, Race Or Of Political, Religious Or Other Opinions By Associating Together The Said Residents And The Local Authorities,voluntary And Other Organisations In A Common Effort To Advance Education And To Provide Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation And Leisure Time Occupation With The Objective Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Residents.in Furtherance Of These Objects But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power:to Establish Or Secure The Establishment Of A Community Centre And To Maintain Or Manage Or Co-Operate With Any Statutory Authority In The Maintenance And Management Of Such A Centre For Activities Promoted By The Charity In Furtherance Of The Above Objects.
