THE BLUNT FAMILY CHARITY TRUSTEES REPORT For the Year Ended 31st March 2023 The Trustees present their report and the finacial statements of the charity. The Trust was formed on 19th March 2019 and charitable status was granted on 24th March 2020. The Trustees have prepared an income and expenditure account for the year ended 31st March 2023. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accoun.ng policies set out on page 8 and comply with the charity's trust deed and applicable law. Trustees The trustees named on page 1 served during the period Investment Powers The Trust Deed authorises the trustees to make and hold investments. On the 2nd November 2021 £500000 was invested with a financial adviser through Quilters. The inten.on is to look at a period in excess of 5 years for the investment to give the Trust the poten.al for growth over a long period. Cons4tu4on, objects and policies The Edith Blunt Family Trust is cons.tuted by a final Trust Deed dated 4th February 2020 Its objects are to provide, both directly and indirectly, To advance any charitable purpose for the benefit of the inhabitants of the village of Upwell in Norfolk, in par.cular but not exclusively the advancement of educa.on, the relief of poverty and the upkeep and maintenance of the village church. Applica4on of income and capital The trustees must apply the income and, at their discre.on, all or part of the capital of the charity in furthering the objects. Developments, ac4vi4es and achievements The Trustees consider that the perfomance of the Trust this period has been sa.sfactory. Considerable work has been carried out on the nature reserve and this is being used by more and more people. Grants have been handed out to a number of people in the village and five larger grants have been made to different organisa.ons in the village. Page 2 THE BLUNT FAMILY CHARITY

TRUSTEES REPORT For the year ended 31st March 2023 - con.nued Financial Review During the period the Trustees received considerable sums from the Blunt estate, and we are advised that more will be available when the development of property has been completed. The accounts reflect a sa.sfactory state of affairs and the total reserves were £723398.25 at 31st March 2023. The Trust has been set up in such a way that all funds are available for projects and people in the village. Risk Management The trustees have conducted a review of the major risks to which the Trust is exposed and, where appropiate, systems or procedures have been established to mi.gate those risks. Internal control risks are minimised by the implementa.on of procedures for authorisa.on of all transac.ons and projects. Procedures are in place to assure compliance with Health and Safety regula.ons in respect of trustees, visitors, volunteers and all third par.es. Reserves Policy To help ensure the longevity of the Trust, the trustees have commenced with investments, taking professional advice. The Trustees have retained adequate reserves, in their opinion, to assist with all expected major funding projects and requests for student grants Statement of Trustees' Responsibili4es Law applicable to chari.es in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial period which give a true and fair view of the charity's financial ac.vi.es during the period and of its financial posi.on at the end of the period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to:a) Select suitable accoun.ng policies and apply them consistently b) Make judgements and es.mates that are reasonable and prudent c) State whether applicable accoun.ng standards and statements of recommended prac.ce have been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements d) to prepare financial statements on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will con.nue in opera.on. The trustees are responsible for keeping accoun.ng records which disclose with
reasonable accuracy at any .me the fnancial posi.on of the charity and enable
them to ensure that the fnancial statements comply with the Chari.es Act 2011.
They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence
for taking reasonable steps for the preven.on and detec.on of fraud and other
irregulari.es.

To the Trustees of The Blunt Family Charity - Charity number 1188735 Independent examiners report to the trustees of The Blunt Family Charity I report directly to the charity trustees on my examina.on of the accounts of The Edith Blunt Family Trust (The Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2023. Responsibili4es and basis of report As a charity the trustees of the Trust are responsible for the prepara.on of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Chari.es Act 2011 (the Act). I report in respect of my examina4on of the Trust's accounts carried out under sec.on 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examina.on I have followed all applicable direc.on's given by the Charity Commission under sec.on 145 (5) (b) of the Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examina.on. I confirm that no material makers have come to my aken.on in connec.on with the examina.on giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accoun.ng records were kept in respect of the Trust as required by sec.on 30 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or 3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Chari.es (Accounts and Reports) Regula.ons 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a maker considered as part of an independent examina.on. I have no concerns and have not come across any other makers in connec.on with the examina.on to which aken.on should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1 ACCOUNTING POLICIES
1.1 BASIS OF PREPARATION OF ACCOUNTS
The fnancial statements are prepared under the historical cost conven.on
and the Statement of Recommended Prac.ce "Accoun.ng and Repor.ng by
Chari.es" (SORP 2015) (efec.ve 1 January 2015) and in accordance with
applicable accoun.ng standards.
1.2 TANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS
Tangible fxed assets are stated at cost less deprecia.on
Deprecia.on is provided at rates calculated to write of the cost, less their
residual value, over their useful lives on the following basis:-
Plant and Machinery 25% on a reducing balance basis.
1.3 INCOME AND RESOURCES EXPENDED
All incoming resources are included when the charity is en.tled to the income
and the amount can be quan.fed with reasonable accuracy.
No permanent endowments have been received in the period
All resources expended are included on the accruals basis.
1.4 TAXATION
Value added tax is not recoverable by the charity, and as such is included in the
relevant costs in the Statement of Financial Ac.vi.es.
As a registered charity, The Edith Blunt Family Trust is exempt from liability to
taxa.on on its income and capital gains.
1.5 MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION EXPENDITURE
Expenditure on management and administra.on of the charity includes all
expenditure not directly related to the charitable ac.vi.es. This includes the
costs of running and maintaining the Nature Reserve.
