REPORT OF THE TRUSTEE BOARD

The Trustee Board presents its annual report together with the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2020. Global Fellowship of Christian Youth (‘the Charity’) is a charitable incorporated organisation which is governed by a voluntary Trustee Board.

Organisation

The Charity was registered on 24 March 2020. The Charity operates as the Global Fellowship of The Boys’ Brigade and other Christian organisations.

The Charity is an umbrella organisation whose purpose is the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom, the promotion of education and relief of poverty amongst the youth of the world by serving and supporting member organisations. Its current objectives are identified within the Executive Committee’s Strategic Plan which is available on the Charity’s website.

The Charity was established as an incorporated body to carry on the work of Global Fellowship of Christian Youth (unincorporated association – registered charity 275036).

Financial and operating review

The Charity was dormant and did not trade during the period from registration through to 31 December 2020.

Post balance sheet event

On 1 January 2020, the Charity received a transfer of assets and the charitable undertaking of Global Fellowship of Christian Youth (unincorporated association – registered charity 275036). The Charity will continue the work of the former Unincorporated Association as required by the Transfer and Vesting Agreement dated 23 December 2020.

NOTES TO THE REPORT AND FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Status

The Charity is a charitable incorporated organisation governed by the Charities Act 2011.

Subject to the Charities Act 2011, the Charitable Incorporated Organisations (Insolvency and Dissolution) Regulations 2012 and the Charity’s Constitution, in the event of any remaining assets being available on dissolution, they shall be applied for charitable purposes that are the same or similar to those of the Charity.
