(2) The advancement of education of children and young people in the performing arts and to further develop their appreciation of and participation in the arts. **TAR** March **2012** 2 The Melissa Bell Foundation continued to face challenges due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, which limited the full delivery of its programmes and fundraising activities. Despite these obstacles, the foundation successfully awarded four summer 2021 scholarships to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, ensuring young people could continue their performing arts education. While the 2021 fundraising gala could not be reinstated due to restrictions, planning began for a 2022 edition, preparing for its return if circumstances allowed. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** Throughout this period, the foundation remained committed to maintaining relationships with beneficiaries, providing ongoing support where possible.
