Risk and Internal Control
The Group Trustee Board has idents'fied the major risks to
which they believe the Group is exposed, these have been
reviewed and s￿leMS have been estab115hed to mitigate
against them. The main areas of concem that have been
identified are:
Damage to the buildirrfJ, property and equipment. The Group
would request the use of buildings. property and equipment
from neKJhbouring organisations such as the church.
community centre and other Scout Groups. Similar
reciprocal arrangements exist wilh these organisations. The
Group has sufficient buildings and contents insurance in
place lo mitigate against pemianenl loss.
Injury to leaders, helpers, supporters and members. The
Group through the capitation fees contributes lo the Scout
Associations national acadenl insurance policy. Risk
Assessments are undertaken before all activities.
Reduced income from fund raising. The Group is primarily
reliant upon income from subscfiplions and fundraising. The
group does hold a reserve to ensure the continuity of
activities should there be a major reductKin in income. The
Board could raise tho value of subscriptions lo increase the
income lo the group on an ongoing basi5. either temporarily
or pemianenlly.
