The organisation is a charitable Incorporated OT8anisation (CIO) which was re8lstered on the I
March. 2020 and is governed by the Constilurion-regisiered 1913120 as amended on the 6,.
September. 2021- which esiablished the objects and powers ol the CIO. In the event of the CIO
having to Ix wound up the Chu¥th Members are not required to contribute an amouni.
Chariiv Tru5tee5 are selected Irom the Church Membership with the Minister bein8 automatical
appointed. A prospective Charity Trustee needs io h￿e been a member for at least l year and lis In
8reement to be considered) shall have Iheir name Submitted to the Church membe￿hIP and voted
on al the appropriate meeting and normally serve foran initial pefio(l of 3 years. Existing Trustees
n be ¥e3ppoinied after theii iniiial term based in the Approved Governing Document IAGDI
requirement5. Once the selection proce55 has been completed the Trustees and ihe Minister
become the Leadership Team of the Church responsible lor managing Church attairs under the
authority of the Church Members. Meetings which are open to all but only Chufch Member5 Can
vote.
Trustee meetings were held monthly with the exception ol May'23 wilh an average attendante of
85% during 2023. At the end of the year 6 Trustees remained with I reslgnallon as above. Church

Members. Meetings wefe held 4 tlmes during 2023 with the AGM included in the meeting 01416123
when Chur£h Member5 aPPfo¥ed the 2022 Financial and Tru5tees' Reports.
The Principal PUTP05e5 of the Church are the advancement ol the Christian faith accordingto the
principle5 01 the Baptist denomlnation. The Church may also advance and carry out other charitable
purposes in the Unitcd Kingdom aTh￿or other parts ol the world.
The Church MemberslLe3dership Team are commilled io enabling as many people as posslble to
worshlp in person or online, through YouTube. in a welcoming, open and safe environment through
Sunday worship, prayer. laith. bible study* music, Sunday School. table tennis and chess 8roup.

repair works needed in the main Church buildiThB and lurther information is provided on this iopic
under the-khievemenis and Performance. section. MainienarKe improvements to the Church aThd
Manse have also been actioned and we remain aware ol the future need to repair the School Room
roof. Durin8 thi5 time ol not being able to occupy the main Church buildin8 health and safety
rnatters were met as we responded to thethallenpofusin8 Other parts ol the premi￿ for
worshlp.
Athlevements and PerformJnce'_
Sunday worshlp ha5 continued to be in penon and onllro vla YouTube throughout 2023. YouTube
provides a rnedia for worshippers who remain un5ufe about retucning to Church in person due to
their own circumstances. Bible Study groups ¢oniinued lo meet weekly wa Zoom and in person. Our
Minister also made available studiesvia YouTube on bmjlkal topks to help people grow In lalth and
increase their ￿ndetstanding of the bible.
Frlday Night Party lor the local cornmunityand Church Memberslregular atteThdtes continues to
grow with ntw families comin8 along to enjoy snacks. chats and variou5 gaffleslcraft5 IDr all ages.
External community group5 for adults with learning difficulties. Gilbert and Sullivan Society and a
local amateur drama group tontinue io use our lacilitie5. The Senior ThuNlay8roup h￿e continued
to meet sotialfy during the year.
¢￿er5e?5 wsitors from St. Wincent visited Wtllin8borw8h and worshipped with u5 durlng the
summer. MRBC financially supported one of the local Churtheswhen the volcano ewpted on the
island.
The floor éama8e insurance claim which wa5 rejecied in 2022 by the Loss Adjusters was progressed
further by the Fabric Team. The exrernal areas of the towerwere repaired. CCTVcamera drain
survey5 were conducted over a period of time and revealed where under8rovnd plpe cracks and a
build up of silt were evident. Further meeiings tcrfjk ￿dee with the loss Adjusiefs alon8 Wlth an
exchange of emails ané with the evidence shown theyfinally agreed io accept our clairn and the
insurance money wa5 received tn December. 2023. Prior to thi5 the'old, floor was uplifted in
5eptember'23 and needed lime for drying out belo￿ the new floor could be laid. This work
commenced in JBnuary'24.
We 2re also aware that the Sthool Room T￿1 need repairslreplacing at some point and
donations lor this woik have been received from the conye8ation. We continue to rnake

contributionslo the l)uildin8 lund and are earn￿¥ Interest through the Baptisl Unlon savi
ccovnt.
Churth Membership Increased to 68 as a result of 11 new members and 7 reslgnations. One funeral
was held Iof a long 51anding member of the con8regation In Oclober'23 and a wedding celebratfjon
took plate in Juno'23. A baptismal and dedi¢atlon seryice took place in April'23 and May'23
respedivety.
Junior Church has tt*nttnued to grow with 3 new membets assisiingwlth the teachlng. Due to hea￿h
reasons the jUn￿Or Church leader has taken time-off from tht role. A small pool of Church Mernbers
continue to be involved in leadin8 the Sunday Services. The monthly prayer meetings have
continued throughoui the year a5 have the breakfast get togethers. The provision of frozen lood
parcels to the communlty ha5 also continued, albelt to a reduced level a5 the requests have reduced.
The Mu51c and Media Groups a150 have new members which has benefitted thelrBroups and the
whole Church.
Durin8 2023 we continued to support the Dayli8hi Cenire wtth food donatlons and financial wpwrt
to Sornalsa aThd Sudan throu8h VK Christian or8an6sations. &MS Home Mission and Wodd Mission
alsts reteived regular donations vrith 5% and 2.5% of offerings belng donated respectively. plu5 an
additional £ICQ per rnonth to each organ15ation. Our Harvest thanksgiving donation wa5 made tg
Bamatsos and we also assisted with an appeal for financlal a$s￿tance foran or8anlsation In India.
Both donèilons were provided ihiou8h the UX.
The MRBC Fellowship fund has also recew ÉILTh) permonth to helpwtth any challen8es faced bv
individuals. This fuod was used to assisi a Romanian person to return home because of domestlc
Issues. The fund also Pfovided the means lor a tutor to teath En8li5h to a small group from the
con8regaiion. In both circumstances Trustees. approval was given.
The survey rèlatinB to the Baptist Union IBUI proposed changes to the Ministefial Rules was
irculated and approved by Church Members ¢)n 29110123 and lorwarded to the BU. The initlal
dlscusslons on the topicwerealred atthe 2y9122 Churth Meetin8.
Changes to the structure of the SafeRuardln8 or8anlsatloft was apwoved at the Church Members,
meeting of 29110123. The necessarychanges We￿ asa ￿$￿It0f a new Designaied Person
Sale8uardine IDPSI bein8 appointed due to the resiRnaiion of the previous DPS. A Trustee remains
responsible for the overall responsibility ol Safeguardin8SUPPOrted by an exk)erienced Church
Mernber and the new DPS. The￿ were Safeguardin8 Issues io report in 2023. SafeRuardln8
training wa5 also provided and our actions are always to promote a salerojlture for chlldreTh and
adults. $3fe8uarding 15 at the heart of our Chrill6an lafth.

dfainagelroof costs accounting for the rnajofity ol the increase. Energy costs increased by £3.345A2.

The main sources ol income in FY2023 We￿ 8en¢rated from Church Members. and regular

The Church's financial position remains that we are bel¢)w the audit ihreshold and eli8ible for
Independent examination which was completed on 2013124 by Linda Freeman. The Church has I hjll
time employee and ministry costs were £34.4k compared with £36.Ik in prevlous year. Oiffefence Is
due to pension changes.
