SEN PARENTING TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 MARCH 2021 The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the period ended 31 March 2021. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in SEN Parenting's constitution, the Charities Act 2011 and -Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice ISORPI applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102)" las amended for accounting periods commencing from l January 2016} Objertives and activities SEN Parentin8 is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation ICIOI. The object of the CIO is: For the public benefit to relieve the needs of and support parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs (SENI, in particular by: providing training for parents and carers of thildren with special educational needs ISENI to enable them to understand their children's disabilities and learn skills to support their development from early years to adult life: • supporting parents and carers in setting up special needs systems within their home environment to bridge the gap between schools, professionals and home; creating awareness of SEN among the general public with aim of enabling better understanding of families with SEN children and how they may be supported and building community relationships: working with schools, educational professionals and other organisations Eo provide outreach support for families of children and individuals With SEN. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER5 REPORT TOTHE TRUSTEES OF SEN PARENTING I report to theTru5tee5 on my examination of the financial statements of SEN Parenting for the period ended 31 March 2021. Responsibilities and basis of report As the Trustees of SEN Parenting. you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act). I report in respect of my examination of SEN Parentinds financial statements carrled out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5llbl of the 2011 Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I tonfirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect- accounting record5 were not kept in respect of SEN Parenting as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act- or the financial statements do not accord wtth those records- or the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS l Accountlng poliaes Charity information SEN Parenting is a charitable incorporated organi5ation (CIO) registered under number 118635. 1.1 Accountlng convention The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the constitution of SEN Parentin& the Charities Act 2011 and "Accountin8 and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Prartice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" {as amended for accounting periods commencing from l January 20161. The Friends of Perseid School 15 a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. SEN Parenting has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charitie5 applying FRS 102 Update Bulletin I not to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below. 1.2 Going concern At the time of approving the financial statements, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that SEN Parenting has adequate re50urce5 and expertise to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus, the Trustees continue to adopt the going concem basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. 1.3 Charitable funds Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of their charitable objectives. 1.4 Income Income was in the form of Grants and donations received during the period to 31 March 2021. Accounting policies 1.5 ExpÈndlture Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Where costs cannot be attributed directly to particular headings, they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
