Trustees’ Annual Report for the period

From 01.04.2024 Period start date To 31.03.2025 Period end date

Charity name: The Father’s House Grimsby

Charity registration number: 1188631

Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 The purpose of The Father’s House
Grimsby is to exalt the name of Jesus
Christ through gospel-centred teaching,
discipleship, community & mission. We
are an elder-led church seeking to
advance the Christian faith through
regular times of public worship, prayer
& Bible study. We have a service at
10.30 every Sunday morning held in the
YMCA building at 21 Freeman Street,
Grimsby. We have sought to give &
encourage pastoral care & have
constantly reviewed our programme as
our duty to ‘love one another’. We have
supported charitable social action in the
local community as several of our
members continue to work in the food
kitchen. We give monthly donations to 6
charities:- The Bible Society,
Compassion (supporting a 8 year old
boy in Ghana), Open Door ( supporting
the persecuted Church ), Hope for
Justice ( anti-slavery & human
trafficking ), Christians in Ukraine and,
beginning in March 23, to the Fellowship
of Messianic Jews in Israel. We also
support 2 missionaries – Steve & Mollie
Brown in Cambodia & Steve Dulieu in
Uganda.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
We have continued to meet in the YMCA
every Sunday morning for a church
service but now meet in the Weston Hall
in the building at the earlier time of
10.30. On the last Sunday of the month
we have a bring and share meal
together. We also meet there every
Thursday evening for prayer & bible
study. There has been a slow increase
in the attendance at our services but not
as many of the residents of the hostel as
we hope and pray for. In July we had 2
baptisms which took place in an
inflatable pool at Scartho Library where
Celebration Church meet. In August our
Deacon Steve Dulieu returned from his
mission in Uganda and began writing
his book, ‘The Grandpa Missionary’. On
21st December we held a Carol Service
in the local Freeman Street market,
joined again by Celebration Church. We
gave a Christmas present to every
resident as well as some of the staff ( a
tin of sweets, card and Christian
literature). In February we changed the
name of our church to ‘The Father’s
House Grimsby’ as well as changes to
the constitution regarding membership.
This involved changes to the website. In
the time covered by this report we have
held 4 Elder/Trustee meetings and 2
Members Meetings.
