Treasurerfs Re rt1stA ri12023 to 31 March 2024 You should have all received a copy of our income and expenditure report, produced by our Beacon accounting system, which has been modified by our auditor to make rt easier to understand. For this year the committee raised the membership fee lo a very reasonable £12 a year or £1 a month. Although we have faced increases in costs for hiring the hall and payments to U3a headquarters VR see no need to make any increase in fees for this coming year. We have shown a small reduction of £428.42 in our funds and we anticipate this reduction continuing this year. We have to be careful nol to reduce our funds too much because we do have a great deal of expenditure falling due in April which Y have to pay out of our existing fvnds before our membership fees come in during June. If making payments for membership or outings please try NOT lo pay in cash. The banks don't like handling cash any MO and it means unnecessary journeys into Witney. So please pay by card. cheque or by bank transfer, it makes lrfe much easier. Finally a plea from your treasurer. If you are already registered for Gfft Aid, thank you, you don't need to do anything further. If you aren't then please consider doing so for this year when you neW your membership. If you pay income tax, and let's fa tt most of us do, then please sign up. It generated £610 last year and this is a welcome addition to our funds. My thanks to Ken Gillians for checking the ac(x)unts. Brian Crossland Treasurer 5 April 2024
