## **Annual Report & Accounts for 2021-22 for Carisbrooke Castle Museum CIO Charity Number 1188568.** 

- Carisbrooke Castle Museum CIO was established on 16[th] March 2020 on the advice of the National Museums Accreditation Scheme. 

- It was intended to replace the existing Carisbrooke Castle Museum Trust (Charity Number 310002) as a more appropriate legal vehicle for the Trust’s ongoing activities. 

- It shares the same Charitable Objects and Trustees of the original Trust. 

- In respect of governance matters, much of the Year 2021-22 was taken up by dealing with post-pandemic issues relating to the original Trust’s security of tenure and ongoing funding.  As a result the original Trust resolved that the formal transfer of assets to the new CIO should not take place until the beginning of the new financial year (April 2022-March 2023). 

- As a result, it should be noted that the new CIO **undertook no activity, financial or otherwise, during the period 2021-22.**
