Our Aims, Objectives & Activities
To promote emotional and mental wellbeing among breast cancer & mastectomy patients & survivors by:
Providing funding for permanent 3D nipple / areola & mastectomy tattoos. Raising awareness of permanent 3D nipple / areola & mastectomy tattoos. Providing a directory of suitably qualified areola restoration tattoo artists.
Public Benefit Statement
We the Trustees confirm we have given serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and can confirm that all our charitable activities fit this guidance.
Achievements & Performance
The trustees are pleased to report the Nipple Innovation Project has had a successful year of fund raising and charitable activities, with a total of 24 treatments fully funded by the charity and its contributors. 20 of these treatments were funded by the £9,000 lottery grant we received in 2022.
Several fundraisers were carried out throughout 2023. Notably our Dip4Nip campaign in October 2023 raised £4636. We are also incredibly grateful to Gag ‘n’ Bone man for hosting a comedy night, which raised £3,700 for the Charity.
£2436 was kindly donated to the charity by our supporters and contributors, with a further £280 raised from NIP T-shirt sales.
Financial Review
The opening balance for the year was £11,097. Income from donations, fundraisers, grants and merchandise sales totalled £11,052 for the period. Expenditure totalled £8,274, of which £6,750 was spent directly on mastectomy tattoo treatments. Net receipts and payments for the financial year were £2,474. The closing balance as of 31[st] December 2023 is £13,570.
Reserves policy
The Trustees made the decision and continue to work towards building and/or retaining a constant surplus, equating the total of six months of costs, to reduce the burden or need for potential redundancy and or financial crisis situations.
Signed on behalf of the board of Trustees.
