Our Aims, Objectives & Activities
To promote emotional and mental wellbeing among breast cancer & mastectomy patients & survivors by:
Providing funding for permanent 3D nipple / areola & mastectomy tattoos. Raising awareness of permanent 3D nipple / areola & mastectomy tattoos. Providing a directory of suitably qualified areola restoration tattoo artists.
Public Benefit Statement
We the Trustees confirm we have given serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and can confirm that all our charitable activities fit this guidance.
Achievements & Performance
The trustees are pleased to report the Nipple Innovation Project has had a successful year of fund raising and charitable activities, with a total of 7 treatments fully funded by the charity and its contributors.
Several presentations were given by our trustees and volunteers throughout 2022, both online and at public events, to educate the public on restorative areola tattoos, as well as to advocate for wider availability of services for breast cancer and mastectomy patients.
We are very grateful to have received £2,837 via donations and sponsorships during the year, as well as a further £423 from NIP T-shirt and calendar sales. Notably, we were also able to obtain a grant of £9,000 via the National Lottery Community Fund which is being used to fund 30 treatments over the next 12 months through the charity.
Financial Review
The opening balance for the year was £5,468. Income from donations, fundraisers, grants and merchandise sales totalled £12,260 for the period. Expenditure totalled £6,621, with the most notable costs arising from re-plenishing stock of the charities popular “Tit-Tee” T-shirts. Net receipts and payments for the financial year were £5,639. The closing balance as of 31[st] December 2022 is £11,097.
