Our Aims, Objectives & Activities
To promote emotional and mental wellbeing among breast cancer & mastectomy patients & survivors by:
Providing funding for permanent 3D nipple / areola & mastectomy tattoos. Raising awareness of permanent 3D nipple / areola & mastectomy tattoos. Providing a directory of suitably qualified areola restoration tattoo artists.
Public Benefit Statement
We the Trustees confirm we have given serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and can confirm that all our charitable activities fit this guidance.
Achievements & Performance
2020 was an exciting yet challenging year for the Nipple Innovation Project.
Unfortunately, our fundraising activities, as well as the ability to provide and fund treatments were significantly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. We were offered the opportunity to attend an Oncology convention where we would have the chance to hold a public discussion on 3D areola tattoos with medical professionals - unfortunately this was also postponed due to the pandemic.
Despite these setbacks we still managed significant accomplishments throughout the year, firstly achieving registered status with the Charity Commission in March 2020. We also provided funding for 3 mastectomy tattoos, expanded our directory of mastectomy tattoo artists with 4 new tattooists joining our list of approved artists, and welcomed several volunteers to the team. We also started a new online campaign ‘my choice’ show people the impact of mastectomy tattoos on breast cancer survivors mental and emotional wellbeing.
As Covid restrictions continue, we remain committed to raising awareness of permanent 3D nipple tattoos via various online platforms and are resolved to providing mastectomy patients with treatment and funding as soon as restrictions are lifted in the future.
Financial Review
The net receipts for the financial year were -£595. All funds are currently unrestricted.
