TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR AGM ON SUNDAY 24[TH] NOVEMBER 2024.
Well shortly after our last AGM we hosted the Christmas coffee morning and presented the retiring trustees Richard and Josie with a beautiful watercolour painting of the Hall by local artist Tracey Davies, which I am sure they have hanging in pride of place in their home.
Also, during the winter, the Hall was awarded a £600 grant to buy some new tables.
The coffee mornings are held monthly and thanks to the volunteers remain our constant fundraising event. The coffee and tea morning ladies host these events, and we must thank all the volunteers Evelyne, Joan, Pat, Lesley and Melanie.
During the summer the hall was painted, and the grounds remained leafless for a period thanks to Vinny and Julie and the newly acquired brushes and leaf blower.
The hall is in a steady place financially thanks to the efforts of our treasurer Andrea as the accounts have just been audited and we have been given another clean bill of health.
The hall users are Papercraft, Cubs, Scouts, Beavers, Rainbows, Girl guides, Gardening club, Yoga, Irish dancing, Tai Chi, Twinkleteds and Church group.
These groups help keep our income constant and as you can see by the groups they span across the ages of our community. The church group also host a free tea and toast 3 times a month on a Thursday giving donations to the hall.
The beavers have recently had their annual sleep over at the hall.
We have recently lost another trustee in the name of Richard Dolphin, which means we will possibly be after a vice chair replacement at the AGM. I would like to thank Richard for all his work on the policies and taking charge of our social media. Also, the reports he wrote for the 5 villages. I realise Julie has now taken over the Facebook page duties and Chris has written the latest 5 villages article but we will be in search of a permanent replacement for this.
Also, I realise our cleaner of the hall, Rachel volunteers her time at the hall each week, this is very generous although I know she had mentioned wanting to give something back to the
hall after it being a big part of her life after spending her childhood over the road.
I would like to welcome Jenna to our board of trustees, and I realise ideally, we could possibly do with one more, we are also on the look out for any active members for our fundraising committee.
It has been a good year for the hall. And hopefully may that continue into 2025 All that is left to say is a big thank you to Chris Dolphin, our secretary who goes above and beyond to keep the hall ticking over. Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd dda Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
