## **TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR AGM ON 26[TH] NOVEMBER 2023**

Well, this year has flown by, I think it has been a year of reflection not just for the hall but for society.

With so many groups sticking to having meetings via zoom etc rather than face to face, maybe something positive coming out of covid as the meetings I have been involved with have been much better attended online than face to face.

Although I do think now and again face to face is so much better, a lot of meetings are now going hybrid so those that find it difficult attending meetings can now attend online.

This year has seen new faces come on board at the hall.

The hall has a new treasurer, Andrea which seems to have been handed over rather smoothly.

Mali (my daughter) is now doing the invoices and bookings for the hall with Chris taking the bookings and informing her.

We do still have a few groups paying by cheque which is a pain.

We are about to lose a few more dear friends of the hall. Without which we wouldn’t be where we are today, Josie and Richard have given there all to making this committee succeed and will be sorely missed.

They previously stepped down as trustees of the hall but kept on working tirelessly on the fundraising committee.

They are finally calling it a day and we sincerely hope that they come along to the coffee mornings, and although it might feel strange at first not being involved, they need to enjoy, as I am sure you agree they deserve to.

I know we will be honouring them with a gift of our appreciation for all the hours they have put in on making sure this hall is in a good place. I hope they like the gift.

We have said thank you for your efforts to a few faces this year and wish them all the best including Melanie from the trustees and Zoe the treasurer, also Heulwen who has stepped aside from the booking to let our daughter (Mali) take her place.

The Facebook page has been going from strength to strength this year with plenty of enquiries about renting for parties etc.

Going forward Mali has requested that the groups let Mali know when they have not been in the hall, rather than having her do all the invoices and then the groups then coming back and saying we weren’t in on that day, so Mali then must correct the invoice and re end it.

With the cost of living and the energy crisis now it is a good idea that the hall was having a smart meter fitted previously.

This may cause us to have to review our hire costs in the future, but if we monitor closely our accounts which are looking quite healthy now, but we haven’t had any huge bills coming in and there may be one around the corner who knows.

Overall, it has been a good solid year for the Hall, we have solidified our accounts with no problems found by the auditor, and we have a healthy account now.

This maybe a time to discuss future projects. I know we have been discussing the new roof and we have been discussing a possible grant application. Also, I know Russ shown an interest in learning how to use the cinema equipment as this could be a good money spinner as we got involved with but COVID struck and it hasn’t been used since.

So let us carry on and here is looking forward to a prosperous 2024.
