- Reporting period 1/1/23 31/12/23

Aims & Purpose

PKF UK charity is set up to support any child and their family living with Perthes disease.

Objectives

PKF UK aims to host an annual residential camp for children age 7-15 and with a diagnosis of Perthes disease. PKF UK aims to support the families of these children through information, advice and by connecting families across the UK.

When planning the camp and activities the trustees have given full regard to the guidance issued by the charity commission.

Achievements and Performance

In August we hosted a 5 day/4 nights residential camp to 22 children from across the UK at Stanley Head Outdoor Education centre, this was supported by 7 volunteers and one trainee volunteer, the camp was open to all children across the UK and was well advertised on social media. Following the camp some great social connections were made for the benefit of the children and their families. The charity continued to provide advice and support to families across the UK.

As a charity we would like to see this camp to reach more Perthes kids year on year, the charity has been working tirelessly with families and specialists in the field to promote our charity to allow us to reach more children and families and continue to be of benefit to those living with Perthes.

Volunteers

We would like thank our volunteers who without them we could not provide the support and offer the camp to kids living with Perthes, our volunteers are instrumental in the planning of camps, and the on-going support to children and families living with Perthes disease.
