**Michael Smith (Drum Internet UK)**
**Mike volunteered to maintain our webpage. This**
**involves occasional updates to the page as and**
**when required. He does this free of charge.**
**James Houlihan (Valli Opticians)**
**James volunteered to hold the annual Christmas**
**appeal for the charity again, using the Opticians as**
**a drop off point for donations. This involves**
**promoting the appeal through social media and**
**news publications. James has since become a**

whole.|Para 1.20|**The charity has continued to be very successful in**
**terms of its fundraising throughout a continued**
**difficult period in the country, with the cost of living**
**crises. This has enabled us to help a lot of children**
**and their families in hospital.**
**We have donated numerous ‘boxes of smiles’ for**
**children on long term admissions and have also**
**expanded our reach, to cover other wards in the**
**hospitals where children are on long terms**
**admissions. We have taken on another General**
**hospital (Tameside, which falls under the Greater**
**Manchester area) and we currently support their**
**Paediatric emergency department and ward.**
**We continue to donate regular batches of our little**
**bags of bravery (which are given to wards for them**
**to hand out to children who have to undergo**
**traumatic procedures) and our little bags of help**
**(which are for families who find themselves on an**
**unexpected admission in hospital).**
**Our activity packs are also regularly requested**
**from the wards and we have continued to provide**
**donations of these.**
**We were shortlisted as a finalist for the Warrington**
**Guardian Inspiration awards in the Charity of the**
**Year category and although we did not win, it gave**
**the charity lots of exposure through the newspaper**
**and social media.**
**We have again received many messages from**
**recipients and their close and wider families which**
**detail how the care packages have supported them**
**through the difficult times in hospital and have**
**helped to bring a psychological boost to the**
**children and their families. We have had letters**
**from the hospitals also praising the work we are**
**doing, which is above what they are able to provide**
**to families in hospital.**
**We have had lots of support from the public in**
**terms of fundraising. Many have set up their own**
**fundraising challenges on behalf of the charity.**
**We have also taken part once again in the London**
**Landmarks Half Marathon. Where we had 15**
**runners completing the challenge on behalf of the**
**charity We managed to fill all the places and our**
**fundraisers raised an amazing amount for the**

**The Trustees fundraising aim for the**
**year was £10,000, however we managed**
**to raise over £27000 in monetary terms.**
**The charity also received donated**
**goods with an estimated value of £9800.**
**These items are kept in stock for**
**onward donation to the beneficiaries as**
**and when referrals are received.**
**The Trustees believe that the difference**
**in the fundraising aim and the actual**
**amount is mainly due to the London**
**Landmarks Half Marathon, as the**
**fundraisers raised a lot more than we**
**expected.**
**The charity has funds in the bank of**
**£22006.89 at the end of the reporting**
**period and donated items kept in stock**
