## Chair's Report 2022/2023 

We have had a very successful year due to the dedication of the Management Committee members and the continued support of the loyal members. 

All of the events have been well attended, some activities were fully booked. 

Many members worked very hard, often in very hot weather on the three excavations at Plover Hall, Gueswick and Kirkhaugh. The numerous visitors enjoyed seeing the excavations, looking at the finds and talking to members. 

We have given several talks to local groups and they are looking forward to visiting the 2023 excavations at Plover Hall and Gueswick. 

More people have been trained to use our Stonex Cube GPS which is used on the fieldwork sites. 

The Durham Name Book project is progressing well with 2150 images transcribed, many thanks to the hard working team. 

We were very fortunate to have Dr Rob Young give his ten talks via zoom before Christmas. (the recordings are available). They were informative and often thought provoking, the following discussions were good too. 

Stephen Brown has kindly donated two superb models he has made of Gueswick and a round house for use at our events. They will be a good educational tool for members and visitors. 

It was an honour for Altogether Archaeology to be awarded the Bob Pendlebury Award by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for our significant contribution to the heritage of the North Pennines.  It is good that all our hard work has been recognised.
