Charitable Purposes
Community Sports Leaders Africa is for the public benefit. Its charitable purposes are the advancement of physical education, amateur sport, health, youth leadership, citizenship and community sports development in Africa.
Charitable Objectves

To advance the education of the public in Africa in physical education and sports leadership.

To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged communities in Africa in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.

To advance in life and help young people in Africa through:

The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life;

Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

Charitable Outcomes
1. Contnued development and support of football in Chitpa, Northern Malawi.
Activities:

March 2024 – Four U12 teams were training regularly. Each team had two older Young Girl Coaches trained to be able to coach the U12 Girls.

April 2024 - project coordinator Coach Wachisa supervised the 8 trained Young Coaches as they delivered an U12 girl practice session for the 50 plus younger players.

May 2024 - 1[st] ever U12 girls football festival. Seven teams attended and the 8 trained Young Coaches organised it.

March/November 2024 – Kit recycling initiative collected 73 boxes of kit in total, taken to Dundee in December.

August 2024 - £750 (£600 donations and £150 gift aid) was raised via a Cricket Challenge to fund sports training courses in Chitipa later in 2024.

August 2024 – A netball coaching course in Kawale zone to identify potential netball Young Coaches to set up an U12 project. Over 50 young coaches attended over the 7 days in 3 different locations. The course was planned and delivered by qualified netball coach Allan Nkhonjera and evaluated by Chitipa District Sports Officer Rowland Harawa.

October 2024 – Malawi National Rugby Development Officer Jack Mphande again visited Kawale zone. He spent two days supporting the teachers and players at the 4 centres already established. The final day saw a rugby festival held.

November 2024, Community Sports Leaders Africa supported the Chitipa Queen’s netball team to travel to Mzuzu for the Northern Regional Finals. The team came 2[nd] out of 8 teams.

December 2024 – 3 Day Young Coaches Training Course held. 32 participants from 8 clubs attended.

End of 2024 - U12 8 a side festival was held. Eight clubs took part.

February 2025, as the 2024/25 charity year ends, these pictures show what being part of the Community Sports Leaders Africa project means to Impala FC in Chitipa. U12 team pictured with Young Coaches trained in 2024, U17 Girls team a new initiative in 2024 and U21 team in final of Chitipa league all wearing donated kits from Edinburgh South Community FC.
