## **Context** 

On 9/3/2020 Community Sports Leaders Africa was officially registered as a charity. This is the 3[rd] official annual report for the Charity Commission. Previous reports going back to 2017 are available on request. On the 9/3/2022 the charity had a balance of £1709.24.

## **Charitable Purposes** 

Community Sports Leaders Africa is for the public benefit. Its charitable purposes are the advancement of physical education, amateur sport, health, youth leadership, citizenship and community sports development in Africa. 

## **Charitable Objectives** 

- To advance the education of the public in Africa in physical education and sports leadership. 

- To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged communities in Africa in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society. 

- To advance in life and help young people in Africa through: 

- The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life; 

- Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

## **Charitable Outcomes** 

## **1. Continued development and support of football in Chitipa, Northern Malawi.** 

## **Activities:** 

- Presentation Ceremony for Chitipa District 2021 Winners – awarded with donated kits. 

- April 2022 U12 8 a side football festival using mini goals. 

- Construction of a set of 5m x 2.5m training goals placed at Isyalikira FP School April 2022. 

- U12 Girls training, encouraging the 8 clubs to start U12 8 a side girls’ teams. 

- £900 raised through sponsored cricket/cycle event – April to Aug 2022. 

- Donated kit and equipment ready to send to Chitipa – Sept 2022. 

- January 2023 – U12 festival with 11 teams 






## **2. Continued support for Primary School Sports in Kawale Zone, Chitipa, Northern Malawi.** 

## **Activities:** 

- In March 2022. Jack Mphande, Malawi National Rugby Coach visited Chitipa/Chisenga for a 5 day training course in Touch Rugby. 

- April 2022 – Florence Nyondo, Chitipa District Education Sports Officer delivered a ‘Softball Cricket Refresher Course’. 

- Softball Cricket Festival – May 2022 – 4 cluster festivals took place 



- Support for Bright Futures Secondary School in Ibuluma – netball posts and football kits donated. 

- Chitipa District Sports Officers Rowland Harawa and McDonald Chimaliro set up a Pilot scheme in a cluster of 4 schools in Kawale Zone. 

- Tennis Initiative at Ishalikra Primary School gets started in February.
