## **Context** 

On 9/3/2020 Community Sports Leaders Africa was officially registered as a charity. This is the 2nd official annual report for the Charity Commission. Previous reports going back to 2017 are available on request. On the 9/3/2021 the charity had a balance of £390.84. The 2021 fundraising campaign started on 1/1/2021 and raised £995. We were not able to visit Malawi this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

## **Charitable Purposes** 

Community  Sports  Leaders  Africa  is  for  the  public  benefit.  Its  charitable  purposes  are  the advancement  of  physical  education,  amateur  sport,  health,  youth  leadership,  citizenship  and community sports development in Africa. 

## **Charitable Objectves** 

- To advance the education of the public in Africa in physical education and sports leadership. 

- To  develop  the  capacity  and  skills  of  the  members  of  the  socially  and  economically disadvantaged communities in Africa in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society. 

- To advance in life and help young people in Africa through: 

- The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life; 

- Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

## **Charitable Outcomes** 

**1. Contnued development of Under 12 football in Chitpa, Northern Malawi.** 

## **Activities:** 

- A further Sensitisation Meeting held by the U12 Project Co-ordinator Wachisa Munkhondijah and the Senior Coaches from the 8 participating football clubs in Kawale zone, Chitipa – April 2021. 

- Monthly U12 ‘8 a side’ football tournaments were held. Most notably in December 2021 and January 2022. 

- A 2[nd] Young Leaders in Football training course (3 days) delivered by Wachisa Munkhondijah in July 2021 attended by 18 more Young Coaches. 

- Wachisa and several Young Coaches visited Chisenga Zone in August 2021 to deliver a Young Coaches training course at the William Stewart Foundation in Ibuluma. 

- A delivery of kits, boots and training equipment arrived February 2022. Boxes were sent to Malawi on a Banana Box Trust container. 









**2. Contnued support for Primary School Sports in Kawale Zone, Chitpa, Northern Malawi.** 

## **Activities:** 

- Softball cricket equipment presented to the 14 primary schools in October 2021 in an attempt to encourage schools to participate as a follow up to the September 2018 cricket coaching courses. 

- 4 sets of junior netball posts were finished in February 2022 using the donated hoops. 

- A Netball Young Coaches course delivered in August 2021 with 10 girls attending. Netball referees course delivered.
