activity during the year took place in
Mbarara, Uganda, where we ran a
structured manicure and pedicure training
course for 20 young women facing social
and economic hardship. The training was
designed to equip participants with
practical skills in professional nail care,
hygiene, and client service, alongside the
foundational knowledge required to
establish small beauty-based enterprises.
All trainees received individual toolkits,
professional uniforms, and course
materials, ensuring that they were fully
resourced to begin working immediately
upon graduation.
Sessions were delivered in a supportive,
trauma-informed learning environment,
with an emphasis on self-worth, dignity,
and future sustainability. The programme
culminated in a formal graduation
ceremony, celebrating each woman’s
achievement and providing a platform for
recognition within their community.
This initiative contributed directly to our
charitable aim of enabling vulnerable
women to build independent livelihoods
and improve their long-term economic
