Activities

we promote the mental and physical well-being of people with learning disabilities by providing an evening of activities each week during school term time. we provide safe travel to and from our local venue and enjoy traditional crafts, quiz nights, discos and other activities. we also take members out on day and evening trips.

Objects: To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit In The Barnsley Metropolitan Borough, For Those Socially Excluded Due To Learning Disability, Of Ages 10 Years Old And Up, By Providing Support And Opportunities To Allow Them To Grow In Confidence, Self Esteem And Independence, Specifically:1. By Providing A Social And Educational Group For Individuals With A Learning Disability Which Meets Each Week To Exchange Ideas, Take Part In Various Group And Solo Activities And Interact With People And Professionals From Outside Of The Organisation That Visit And Take Part In Group Activities;2.by Providing Organised Excursions, Visits To Entertainment Venues And Other Social Activities Which Provide Opportunities For The Members And The Wider Public To Participate And Interact Together, So As To Promote A Positive Experience Of Interaction With Each Other And Fostering Good Relations Both Ways;3.by Co-Ordinating And Increasing Opportunities For Members To Engage With The Wider Community And Increase Awareness Of Disabled People's Rights And Issues To Enable Providers To Adapt Services To Better Suit The Disabled Community;"learning Disability" Means Any Developmental Disability Of The Mind And Any Associated Condition, Howsoever Caused, Whether Mild, Moderate Or Severe.
