: The objects of the cio are to relieve the suffering and emotional distress amongst parents and families resident in Essex and the surrounding area, who have experienced the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, sudden infant death syndrome, illness, infection, accident, or terminal illness in particular but
:- a not exclusively by ( ) supporting newly bereaved parents by the provision of keepsakes
(b) providing or assisting in the provision of items to . hospital units not otherwise made available by the nhs c ( ) raising awareness of meconium aspiration syndrome, pulmonary embolisms, sepsis and baby loss.
OUR YEAR
During our first financial year as a registered charity the covid-19 impacted our work ’ somewhat. Oakley s Gift donated several items of furniture to bereavement suites. (b) Founder Joanne and Thomas attended a training day amongst NHS professionals and provided their insight to baby loss encouraging changes in practices. Covid-19 drove us to support early pregnancy losses as the restrictions made losses ‘ even more traumatic. We provided Care ’ Packages to hospitals in various counties. (a) We used our social media presence to raise . awareness for pulmonary embolisms and sepsis Our chair appeared live on radio stations to . c discuss baby loss and raise awareness ( ) We have had extremely positive feedback from the trusts and families we have supported. We look forward to continuing our work further now . government restrictions have been lifted

This is just the beginning for the charity and I am looking forward to all we have to achieve in the upcoming . years Hopefully with the continued support of families and businesses we can continue to help hundreds of families.
OUR INSPIRATION
Oakley’s Gift was originally founded in December 2018 after the founder’s son was born via - emergency c section. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the medical team he died of . meconium aspiration syndrome His parents did not want his little life to be forgotten and wanted to turn their grief into something positive. That is ’ when Oakley s Gift was created. The name was ’ suggested by Natashia, our treasurer. That s exactly what we wanted to do, gift. Our love for . Oakley is the force that drives us in all we do
