The Objects of the CIO are for the public benefit to advance the Christian religion in accordance with the Statement of Faith mainly, but not exclusively, through the provision of education, coaching, training, vocational preparation and support to Christians in the development of the skills required for preaching and ministry.

The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.

• training a preaching team in Latvia, based at the S.O.P. Riga and the Team of the international Church Riga through example, coaching individual preachers and preaching teams, and through seminars, courses and written materials.

• revising the two-year S.O.P. training course

• training preaching teams in Ukraine and Azerbaijan and Uganda

• examining and marking trainee preacher’s essays and sermons at Spurgeons College

Summary of the main achieve- ments of the charity during the year

- Seeing the first School of Preachers intake after the Pandemic and being able to teach in person. - The publication of the book on preaching: God is in the House by John Woods. - The beginning of the translation of the book into Latvian to coin- cide with the 30th anniversary of John Woods’s first visit to Latvia. - The organisation of two successful training events in connection with the Dead Preachers' Society. One a 48-hour event in East- bourne on Preaching: Past, Present and Future, the other a day's retreat reflecting on how to read Augustine's City of God. - Having a full diary of preaching and training opportunities in the UK and abroad throughout the year.

The charitys key annual expenditure is the regular payment of the Train- **Brief statement of the charity’s** ing Directors salary.
