APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES

As set out in the Articles of Association, the maximum number and minimum number, respectively, of the trustees may be determined from time to time by ordinary resolution. Subject to and in default of any such determination the maximum number of trustees is eight and the minimum number of trustees shall be three. New trustees will be appointed and thoroughly vetted prior to appointment by the current trustees. It is not expected that any of the trustees will resign from the charity. There is no formal training programme provided to trustees, however they are briefed on their legal responsibilities and supplied with a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association. They are also made aware of external training opportunities and encouraged to participate if appropriate. They commit to uphold the aims, vision, mission and values of the organisation. A list of trustees who served during the financial year ending 30[th] June2026 is included on page 2 of this report.

Additional Governance Issues

MANAGEMENT OF THE CHARITY

The charity is governed by the board of trustees, which meets three times a year. The

composition of the board is monitored on a regular basis to ensure that all members have the necessary skills and expertise to govern the charity. A budget is set annually and submitted to for approval.

REMUNERATION The trustees are the key management personnel of the charity, in charge of directing, controlling, running, and operating the charity on a day-to-day basis. All work is voluntary and there is no remuneration.

Objects

Statutory Declaration on Public Benefit

The trustees declare that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers or duties.

Fund Raising

ODE raises fund from the public but does not work with professional fundraisers or commercial participators. Additional funding was acquired through the sales of mugs, clothing, buns and cakes. Forum 2000 A talk was given to this group in Horsforth about the work of ODE and a donation was given.

Canal Walk On May 16[th] 2026 a small group walked from the Leeds University Steps to Horsforth via the city centre and the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

Executive Summary

Activities, Achievements & Performance

ODE is a recently formed British charity which was registered on 4th March 2020 in England & Wales. Money has been raised through sponsored walks and a Dragon Boat Festival in the UK as well as through the sale of mugs, clothing and buns. All of the monies and donations raised have been paid out as awards or equipment with a small balance held as a reserve.

The charity has already started to grow, yet despite its size has made a significant impact on the lives of many disadvantaged students, particularly those in remote areas of The Philippines.

This year has seen a period of expansion as we now support 20 schools. The newer schools are generally smaller and located in often more difficult to access or remoter villages. The main focus has been the building of relationships, first between the trustees and the Headteachers of the nominated schools and potential future schools and secondly, developing an official core group of Filipino supporters who will act as local representatives. We would also like to develop our new relationship with Free Stuff LS19 which we were able to join in April. Lastly we want to attempt to develop partnerships between schools in The Philippines and the UK. This we believe is the direction for future progress which we would hope to build upon.

The Board of Trustees selected a number of Elementary schools in The Philippines and provided them with some of the resources necessary to improve the quality of their education. Five schools were initially selected, three on and next to the island of Panay, one on the island of Mindanao and one in the mountainous region of Ifugao in the north of the country. This has now increased to nineteen with additional schools in the Gigantes Islands, Ifugao, Ilocos and Cebu. The focus of support during 2025 – 2026 has been to target these schools in providing additional resources as the impact of this work has now evidenced improvements in learning. Trustees have agreed to explore additional schools that could benefit from these resources.

Transparency

ODE operates with complete transparency and all money raised, has been used solely for charitable purposes. The charity has no expenses and any work undertaken has been done so on a voluntary basis.

ODE continues to work with local representative to follow up and monitor any resources given. We would particularly like to thank Mr Glen C Dellera, Mrs Lisa Dellera and Mr Butch Mijares who all gave us assistance in visiting schools

Schools

During the last year the number of schools we have supported has increased to 19, mainly due to staff relocations. Some of the new schools are all very small in even more remote areas, usually less than 100 students

Year in Review

Forum 2000 A talk was given to the Forum 200 group in Horsforth about the work of ODE and a donation was given. A laptop and a follow up donation were also received. Canal Walk On May 16[th] 2026 a small group walked from the Leeds University Steps to Horsforth via the city centre

Boxes Working with the Rotary Club of Kalibo ODE was able to support Albasan Elementary School in Kalibo and New Washington Elementary School project in by providing a box of books.

School Visits

The trustees managed to visit Pook and Trangka Integrated Schools as well as Rizalina, Hucab, Pindongan, Kiangan, Nagacadan, Julongan, Dao and Igpaho Elementary Schools during the last year.

Mentorship: Marlon R Macalino the head of Granda Elementary School was able to travel to the provinces of Isabella and Ifugao and meet with the heads of our partner schools in those provinces and see the different types of problems and solutions they have.

“For me, my trip to Ifugao was initially meant to be just a simple vacation—an opportunity to relax and relieve the stress brought about by work and personal challenges. However, everything changed the moment I arrived there. As an educator, I have always made it a habit to value the community and visit schools wherever I travel, because they reflect the state of education, governance, and the overall character of a place. My journey to Ifugao gave me many meaningful realizations. I came to understand that every region in the Philippines has its own unique culture that deserves to be understood and respected. Without such understanding, we can easily become judgmental of people's actions and perspectives. During my visit, I gained a

deeper appreciation for the rich culture and traditions of our indigenous communities. I also learned valuable insights into school leadership through meaningful conversations with teachers and fellow school heads. More importantly, I realized how essential it is for the government to continue strengthening and prioritizing the education system in our country. As an instructional leader, I sincerely pray that I may fulfil the responsibility entrusted to me with excellence, dedication, and compassion, so that I can help shape the young minds who are the hope of our nation. I am deeply grateful to ODE Charity for giving us the opportunity to travel, serve, and broaden our perspectives as educators. This experience was far more than just a journey—it became a life-changing lesson that I will carry with me throughout my life and in my continuing commitment to serve the field of education.”

Feeding Program: In June ODE was able to participate in a feeding program for Dao and Igpaho Elementary schools in the province of Iloilo. Lunch was provided for all the students of both schools.

The books are not only good, but the best, starting from the story books for small children Numeracy books and even books for professional like us are all usable and great support not only in our teaching and learning performance, but also in our personal and Professional growth.

What I love with the books is that, although the stories are mostly based on Western context and yet my learners most especially grade 4 still love reading them over and over again.

It seems that what they don't see and experience in the Phil are answered and filled in through your materials.

These learning resources have made a significant impact on both teaching and learning activities. The books have enriched our library and provided students with wider reading options that support comprehension and independent learning.
