How the Charity is Constituted:
Charitable Incorporated Organisation - Foundation Registered 4[th] March 2020

Subject to and in default of any such determination the maximum number of trustees is eight and the minimum number of trustees shall be three. New trustees will be appointed and thoroughly vetted prior to appointment by the current trustees. It is not expected that any of the trustees will resign from the charity. There is no formal training programme provided to trustees, however they are briefed on their legal responsibilities and supplied with a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association. They are also made aware of external training opportunities and encouraged to participate if appropriate. They commit to uphold the aims, vision, mission and values of the organisation. A list of trustees who served during the financial year ending 30[th] June 2021 is included on page 2 of this report.
Additional Governance Issues
MANAGEMENT OF THE CHARITY The charity is governed by the board of trustees, which meets three times a year. The composition of the board is monitored on a regular basis to ensure that all members have the necessary skills and expertise to govern the charity. A budget is set annually and submitted to the trustees for approval.

Statutory Declaration on Public Benefit
The trustees declare that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers or duties.
Fund Raising
ODE raises funds from the public but does not work with professional fundraisers or commercial participators. Our first fund raising activity took place during the year with a 2.6-mile kitchen walk. Additional funding was acquired through sales of mugs, clothing, beauty soap, buns and cakes.
We also participated in Wonderful.org’s May. It’s Miles Better Official Event during May 2021.
Clothing, mugs, buns and beauty soap .

Executive Summary
Activities, Achievements & Performance
ODE is a newly formed British charity which was registered on 4th March 2020 in England & Wales. A limited amount of money was raised through the “2.6 Challenge” in 2020 & Wonderful.org’s “May. It’s Miles Better” 2021 in the UK and through the sale of mugs, clothing and buns. All monies and donations raised have been paid out as awards with a small balance held as a reserve.
The charity has already started to grow, yet despite its size has already made a significant impact on the lives of many disadvantaged students, particularly those in remote areas of The Philippines.
As a result of the COVID 19 virus The Philippine Government decided to move all education from formal classroom study to online and modular work away from schools and consequently ODE was unable to select relevant students for sponsorship. The Board of Trustees therefore decided to select a number of elementary schools and provide them with some of the resources necessary to enable education to continue.
Five schools were selected, three on and next to the island of Panay, one on the island of Mindanao and one in the mountainous region of Ifugao in the north of the country.
Ifugao Hucab Elementary School, Kiangan, Ifuga
Panay Island
Pook Elementary School, Kalibo, Aklan Igpaho Elementary School, Tubungan, Iloilo Langantan Elementary School, Gigantes Sur
Mindanao
Balila Elementary School, Lantapan
Each school was given assistance in the form of either photocopying paper, toner or stationery materials to help them manage their students’ continuing learning. Further assistance was given towards the end of the year to two of the more remote schools with further photocopying paper and a new printer.
The second part of this first year has focused on evaluating the charities impact and where the charity wants to go in the future.

Impact
1 Igpaho Elementary School, Tubungan, Iloilo, The Philippines
Igpaho Elementary School lies in the mountains near the town of Tubungan around 90-minute drive from Iloilo, Panay’s biggest city.
Igpaho was provided with funding to purchase photocopying paper and plastic envelopes. They have also been provided with a new printer.
Impact
Students have taken work home and successfully completed it using the photocopied materials provided. The paper has given them the opportunity to record their findings and submit work for evaluation.

Lantangan Elementary School is on Gigantes Sur Island which is part of the Gigantes, a group of 10 islands of the north east coast of Panay around 18 kms from the mainland.
Photcopying paper was provided to the school to enable the children to complete their work at home.
Destroyed by Typhoon Ursula (Phanfone) on Christmas Day 2019, Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in 2013 and Typhoon Frank (Fengshen) in 2008 Lantangan faces a continual struggle to provide an education and help to it’s students and families who rely soley on subsistance fishing for their income.
Around 90% of the houses on the Gigantes Islands were destroyed.

Impact
The essential resources provided by ODE ensured a large number of students received materials to assist their learning. This has successfully enabled more pupils to make good and better progress.

The Future
Moving forward, ODE will continue to develop deeper relationships and provide further help with possible projects including the purchase of school uniforms for Year 1 in Igpaho, bags and stationery for the Year 1 students of Hucab as well as financial assistance to two students from each school as they progress into their first year of high school. This will be dependent on Covid restrictions on education within The Philippines being relaxed for the next school year.
We are hoping to have some individual fund raising activities during the coming year.
Due to government restrictions none of the trustees have been able to personally visit any of the projects however we hope to do so once these are lifted.
